Professional engineer retired on health grounds. Also an amateur photographer but more of a gear junkie than a photo taker because I can't get out all that much.

Canon gear: 1D4, 1D2, G9, 1V, EF 600 f/4 L IS, 300 f/2.8 L IS (love it), 100-400 L IS (formerly the most used), EF 28-300 L IS (so versatile and now the most used on full frame), 85 f/1.2 L II, 85 f/1.8, 70-200 f/4 IS L, 50 f/1.8 mk I, 50mm f/2.5 compact macro (very versatile on a full frame body), 100mm f/2.8L IS macro, TS-E 90 f/2.8(excellent), TS-E 24 L (I & II), 40 f/2.8 STM, 1.4x II, 2x II, 420EX, MT-24EX, 580EX II.
Tamron gear: 28-75 f/2.8 (not so good), 180 f/3.5 macro.
Nikon gear: D700 (my first camera in quite a while that worked out of the box !), D3s (truly excellent), D800E (excellent at low-mid ISO), AF 50mm f/1.8D, AF-S 24-70 f/2.8G, AF-S 14-24 f/2.8G, AF-S 105 f/2.8G VR Micro, AF-S 200-400 f/4G VR, AF-S 24-120 f/4G VR (most used lens despite not being the best), R1-C1, SB-900, SB-700.
Carl Zeiss gear: 2/100 ZF.2 Makro, 2/135 ZF.2 (wonderful manual focus lenses)
Sigma gear: 35 f/1.4 Art
Ricoh gear: GR 5 camera

Main photo software: Lightroom

I was drawn to Nikon by great features and yet more problems with my Canon cameras but I also bought a 1D4 to let me keep using my Canon lens collection.

D800E, D3s, D700, 1D4, 1D2, G9, 1V, more lenses than I can carry.
