A visit to the East Pond

As migration is in full swing I'm starting to transition to shooting in my winter locations. The East Pond of Jamaica Bay has been a faverate location for many years. There are still some summer birds such as herons and egrets and even osprey still passing through. The ducks have begun to arrive and there will soon be thousands of them on the East Pond. I'm looking forward to the arrivals of the huge flocks of geese, particular the snow geese which are a faverate. This is some of what I saw during last weeks visit.

When shooting at the East Pond reach is usually an asset so I'm using a Tamron 1.4x SP TC with my Sigma 150-600 Sport and my D500. That's an effective focal length of 840mm which is quite unforgiving.

Comments and suggestions welcome,

Morris
