The drive is about 25 miles from the end of the pavement at Ubehebe.

How long it takes will depend on your driving and the road conditions, which can vary significantly. (Ask before you leave, and listen if the rangers say it's in bad shape.)
Last time I went, the road was 95% well graded gravel. There are always a few rough spots where the road crosses bedrock, etc. that are 'dangerous' to your tires. Let some air out of the tires and pick your path and, IMO, you'll be fine.

This is about what I remember... I didn't make formal notes, but I'm pretty sure the drive time was well under 2 hours.
