A crazy (and forced) experiment with an unusual combo:
TC-16A teleconverter autofocusing for a AF-S lens!
My 600/4 AF-S II chip isn\'t communicating properly with TC14E or TC17E converters (!!!), so a meantime solution was to leave lens at MF and use a modded TC16A!
You need to manual prefocus roughly and then the TC-16A made fine autofocus.
Focus is surprisingly responsive and accurate after I made an af-tune for the combo to (-8).
Exif shows 145mm lens and f/ stops not multiplied by 1.6.
