Greg, There are a couple species of these nectar feeding bats. The winter in Mexico and come north ans spend some time breeding then back to Mexico to winter. When we have droughts and their normal nectar producing plants fail the resort to humming bird feeders on the way back south. I have forgotten the species but I think one is Mexican Long nosed, Ill check that later.
