Item 1: Nikon 500mm F4 AI-P

I'm still a newbie here so I trust I am posting this correctly.
Please let me know if it should be handled differently.
I posted it here earlier at a perhaps rather ambitious price and got no bites.
It is now on eBay with an opening bid of $1000. Auction ends on Tuesday evening.
Ebay item # is 230971242161

Well worn cosmetically with no hood, trunk or leatherette front lens cap.
The previous owner (a White House press photographer) applied the grey tape to the lens and I have decided not to try to remove it for fear that the sticky residue will look worse than the tape.
The rubber surround of the front element is out of round and you almost certainly can't attach a filter - but not having a 122mm filter I have not tried.
The front element is very clean with no scratches but a couple of very small coating marks.
Internally there is a small amount of dust visible looking through the front element with the rear of the lens held to the light.
I'm very happy with the lens on both my D800 and V1 but this summer travel to Europe is a higher priority than bird pics (especially for my wife!)
Paypal fees and shipping within the lower 48 (Fedex Ground, insured) are included in the price. I would be happy to meet within an hours drive of Annapolis for a face-to-face deal and would adjust the price accordingly.

Please PM me with any questions.

V1 ISO 800 f4 1/5000 no crop. ISO 400, or possibly 200 would have been preferable but 100 would have been too slow with the tripod and head I have. The fence is about 15 yards from the camera.

At the full asking price I'll include a Lightware case I've been using for protection. It is in great shape with no rips, tears or stains - just a little discoloration inside by the zipper. New these are about $170. It is a little oversized for this lens but still far more practical in the field than Nikon's trunk case.
