But I agree, the wider zoom range is attractive. Nikon has tried and failed since the film days to put a 24-85-120 together with great imaging. It seems not so easy to make a high quality lens beyond 24-70.
My comment was really about Canon making more of a mid-quality, non-L lens, like the 24-85 was, rather than the longer zoom range. My 24-85 actually fine on an APS-C camera
, and I loved the light weight.
