icon 30D or 35D...what?

I called RitzCamera the other day to inquire about the 20D and the lady told me to wait after the PMA announcement about Canon's new release...

30D or 35D? True or False?

There must be 15 threads created/updated about this in the last 3 days...there will probably be the replacement real soon but the only people who'd know are kept quiet by NDA's. If you want all the speculation you can handle (and then some...) do a search

What on earth can a significance be of the camera model designation ? What's in the name ? They can call it "Dinky-Winky Mark XIV Phi" for all we should care.

However, what does have some bearing on prospective purchasers are non-frivolous enhancements such as AF precision/speed, ISO noise suppression, frame burst size, JPG processing and such. Right, let's not forget the price !

Unless things like IS are included in the body, it might be worth getting a 20D cheap.

I don't care about body IS, more MP, less noise, GPS, or ISO in viewfinder, but ECF would make me reach for my wallet and pronto. A larger viewfinder would propel me straight into hog heaven. Otherwise I'll stick with my old 10D.

Great. Just when I'm upgrading to a 20D.

Any guesses on the price of a sub-6k shot 20D after the release of the successor? Assuming, that it'll be a minor upgrade. Maybe two million pixels more and some other minor tweaks.

dont be so quick to give it away! it cant be that much of a massive increase
they have a ceiling of the MKIIN to get to and the floor of the 20D to exceed. They wont make it 8 FPS or FF cos they have them
id be looking at what the 20D doesnt have that say Nikon do. D200 is what about 10mp and 5 fps, good noise supression... id go with the canon equiv of the D200

either way im hoping and praying the arse falls out of the 20D market and i can pick one up for even cheaper than what they are going for at the moment!

I am hoping for something that lowers the 5D price. I love my 20D and as you all know amazing photos are possible with it. The only thing I want is FF, but I can wait a while for the 5D to come down in price.

I'll give you $200 for it. :)

Just how low do you want the 5D to go? I just ordered on from amazon for 2876 with a 100 dollar promotion code from them.
