I have two Canon 50 f1.0L USM lenses that I was going to keep in my collection, but now need to sell one of them to fund an upcoming Leica M ASPH lens.
Currently, this is one of but two f1.0 lenses presently out there. Leica has the Noctilux and Nikon has the famed manual focus f1.2 Noct.
This particular lens is in excellent - mint condition - no marks or scratches on the glass or barrel.
Date Code UF
Comes with hood, caps, and hard case.
It is difficult to set a price for this lens, this is not a lens for everyone-
at 2.2Lbs with 11 elements in nine groups, and two aspherical elements, it is not your typcial 50mm lens, yet this lens is sufficient to take photos in the dark with just one candle light--- hand held.
I recently sold another one to a fellow FMer in the low 3k range. If you are seriously interested, please PM me.
I will try to take pics of this lens either tonight or tomorrow night. I am hoping this lens can go to someone on FM who appreciate this special lens, therefore, serious buyers only.
I am located in Wash DC / N. VA area, you are more than welcome to inspect.

To give a brief response to all interested so far, this lens is mint and no scratches whatsoever on the glass. There may be a few tiny dust specks in the rear element, but I would need to verify when I get home.
I know the lens that was just sold on another forum for 1800.00 was priced way too low, and congrats to whoever gotten that deal. But I have no intent to sell this lens at that price, I apologize to everyone.

i don't mean to be impolite, but since you yourself brought up the topic of prices in other people's threads, etc., i thought i'd respond. that other lens did not sell for too low a price. it sold for however much it was worth in its market at a fair price for both seller and buyer. your's may/may not sell for your asking price. regardless, good luck with your sale. personally, i've never seen one of these puppies before. i too would love to see some pics wide open taken with this beast.
lol ......Eric, I saw that too and thought that you had bought that Lens...
I wish you lived on this coast, I would love to try one of these..

Unfortunately I was not the one who bought the lens on the other forum.
As for pricing for this lens, this is one of those lenses where there is no set market price. I can say that I bought my other mint LNIB 50mm 1.0L with box, manual, warranty card, etc for a very high price from a fellow FMer.
It might be very high price to certain people, but I was justified in paying the amount because I wanted the fastest lens available in LNIB condition.
This one is no exception, mint condition, the only sign of wear is on the hard case where some black leather has peeled off.
