I don't totally agree with that. Saturated colors in high contrast scenes can reduce the gap between Zeiss and others as well, and in scenes with relatively flat lighting the higher microcontrast/local contrast of Zeiss can be more apparent (in comparison to other manufacturer's lenses).
valid point on saturated colors.
However, In my limited experience (7 months with different CY/ZE glass), I have had difficulty seeing the differences in flat light though. They are there, but very hard for me to see them compared to situations in contrasty light.
