Thanks. .57/1.2 prices are so high that I would not buy one without trying it out myself. The same refers to 85/1.8.But 57/1.4 seems to be pretty cheap so I can take a risk.

Thank you plasticmotif.I spot this thread by our FM earlier this day.Good to know the lens does pretty well with demanding NEX7 sensor.I look around to find some nice 57/1,4 or 50/1.4.
Meanwhile I bought Hexanon 28/3.5 EE,the older,black,full metal version,with 7/7 optical construction,giving up it's newer 5/5 incarnation.
From my experience with old alt lenses without special (i.e. asph,ED,ect) glass, it is quite clear, that more complex optical construction has usually better overall IQ compared with newer, simplified design.

I took delivery of a Nikon Series E 50mm 1.8 yesterday. With the Metabones Speed Booster and my NEX-6, I've now got a nice sharp 50mm with a full frame look in a very small package. I'm very satisfied with the whole package, since I've really missed the full frame look after selling my 5D2 last year.

That would be a Tokina 28-70/2.6-2.8 AT-X Pro II. Bought it about 6 months ago & sold it a few months back but it was excellent glass. Wish I'd kept it longer.

Yes.A great lens.Angenieux zoom emulation.I used to have 3 copies in the film times. It should work well on digital.
It is snowing outside and everything around is white.Looking through the window I think it's Christmas, not Easter.Hunting for new lenses I've just acquired Hexanon 50/1.4 EE to complement my Konica lineup. This lens is very well regarded.

Vivitar 70-150/3.8 macro (1 touch) for Nikon. Lovely little lens that came with the 2x converter as well.
Minolta 35-70 3.5 macro. No idea if true but I read this is one of the Minolta lenses that was made at the time Minolta were working with Leica and is supposed to have a performance that supports the claim. It should be possible to remove a tab under the mount ring to keep the aperture open fully at wider settings. It stops down a lot @35mm to maintain 3.5 so if nothing else it may be easier to focus.

It is true. The purest Minolta/Leica is the one without macro function, but having both I prefer macro version - lighter, close focusing and a tad better colours/contrast.
