I haven't used my NEX cameras since I got an A7, but I thought I'd change that. So I recently attacked my NEX-5 with a screwdriver and converted it to full spectrum, then stuck the Sigma 30 to it and added a cheap Haida 720nm filter. Here's a couple of results from this combination:

Very nice. I'm partial to IR myself although I don't use my converted GF1 often. Was that an original Nex-5 or a 5N or later.

It's an original NEX-5. I thought about selling it, but I use the battery with my other cameras and I wouldn't get much more than a new battery would cost me. And I wanted to try out IR, so I thought why not. It wasn't so hard to convert the camera, I only got two screws left over

is there a good source for how to do the conversion?

I am trying to find standard head/shoulder portraits on NEX with the FE55/1.8. I've got a lot more looking to do, but if anyone would like to help me out with specific references to shots already posted, or shots you have, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks for this thread and to all the contributors, its always nice to see what you good folks are up to, and how you are matriculating with your experience with adapted lenses on NEX. For me this is what photography is all about, and the knowledge shared here is no small thing. Learning from the posts/lens combos has made me a better photographer.

Trying out new stuff this week...

Sig 30 with n6 and 1.03 firmware. Can't say I notice a difference in af speed or accuracy, but I am not so nitpicky about such things.

I have been accruing ancient nikkors as to fill out some gaps in my lineup (and they are still somewhat cheap)... the 135 2.8 ai-s is a beauty. It also comes with a built in lens hood. Aesthetically it looks a little big, but the results are there, this is stopped down to f4.

The 35mm nikkor-O was recently put into rotation as well, serving as a "nifty fifty" on my NEX's for weddings (I find it a very useful focal length for such gatherings). I am happy to report that wide open this lens is another gem on N6, allowing for some good available light grabs.

Whew, great stuff here lately. Long time, no post, but here's a couple from the 5N/ikkor 80-400 VR.

Missed the timing/wasn't in exactly the right place for this one, the sun was supposed to be centered in the cupola glass, but...

Like how this one turned out.

Season of Tilt
Week 13, Wednesday - New possibilities
"No dreams or memories to share today. Instead I'm posting another nice example of Lensbaby Edge 80 optic. Using the tilt I've introduced just a little bit of blur on top this image, while keeping the human figure sharp. Now that I've learned to expect a certain possibilities with Edge 80, I'm starting to find regular 'straight lenses' a bit boring. Couple of days ago I had to use my kit lens (SEL1855) for some family pictures and while it felt almost too easy with AF and OSS, I felt something was missing.[...]"

Thank you! I definitely need to go back and try again, but it was fun and didn't turn out horrible.
