A hodgepodge of A6000 photos. All made with the 16-70. Many made while messing around with the whispy water app - some handheld, I was looking for a painterly/watercolor/multi-ex effect for fun. This camera/lens combo is so much fun... This is my first mirrorless, interchangeable lens cam and man I can see where traditional DSLR days may be numbered, at least for the great majority of my shooting needs/desires. I currently shoot with both Nikon and Canon fullframe cams so didn't know what to expect from the A6000. I was just curious. But boy, I'm pretty darn happy. AFAIC, the A6000 is a tremendous value. And the small size + great IQ make it a great travel/hiking cam.

What I find amazing, Michael, is the price. At $598 brand new, nothing comes close . On the other hand, it is an APS-C camera and a lot of folks do not take this camera seriously .

I have had a closer look at some A6000 files (thanks Joshua ) and tried it at the store today. Really nice camera! I agree… great value for the price. Plus there are many cheap - but excellent - lens options for this system available.

I certainly didn't think I'd take it seriously, having given up APS-C cams a while ago but wow, Sony is doing great things with sensors and the price, functionality and form factor are terrific. I'm very much looking forward to Sony's next iteration of fullframe mirrorless cams.

Season of Summer Light
Week 24, Wednesday - Far away
"Like I've already mentioned earlier, during this summer we are trying to make more trips to nature and be away from the playgrounds. While I love these trips, they often include a photographic problem called hard light. In people photography, what this season very much is, hard light produces too strong shadows (especially around eyes) and it makes difficult to get soft natural looking skin. Perfect light conditions would require me to work within golden or blue hour, which is impossible with Aura since currently the sun sets in Finland around 23.00 – and Aura's bedtime is way before that. [...]"

And some fron the A6000 with the SEL1018:

I think its better to continue the A6000 image thread here because in all aspects, it is a Nex camera to me.

Season of Summer Light
Week 24, Saturday - Pispala ridge playground
"Another summer trip. This time me and Aura went to Pispala ridge playground, which is one my favorite places in our hometown Tampere. It’s an old and pretty much abandoned playground at the top of the ridge with a great view over the scenery. You can swing there and enjoy the lake view about 100 meters (300 ft) below you. There isn’t much of the usual playground gadgets there and the things that are there are in a bit of a bad shape, but there is a certain spirit I find very unique [...]"

Went to Fallsville Falls again, and while I shot almost entirely with my Fuji gear, I did bring my NEX-6 along for a few shots. Took this with the Sigma 30 @ f/16, 15 seconds with polarizer (held in front of the lens since I don't have a 46mm polarizer).
