Awesome standard on this thread, is it my poor memory or has the bar been raised vs. last year?

I missed the thread first time round so I give you two from my year in one post...

Two chimpanzee brothers playing on the forest floor in Chambura Gorge, Uganda. It was very special getting the opportunity to photograph these two in the wild.

A Salvin's Mollymawk, a type of Albatross, shot early in the year off the coast of New Zealand. I love the tones in this image and the background of the choppy sea, for me it shows an Albatross in exactly the setting I wanted to capture it in.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all on FM.

Paul.

Wow, what a fantastic thread Thang and thanks for starting it.
Sorry for being late to the party but seeing as I am I will put in my first and second favourite ones together

1 The first one is the best one I have taken of a Swift, the fastest bird in flight in the world.
In the summer these guys scream past my balcony in Geneva with a totally erratic and unpredictable flight pattern and I had been trying for over two years with various combinations of lenses and cameras to try and get a decent one. I was really pleased to get this one.

2 Reflecting my other main interest in photography I am posting this close up of a red rose with its delicate folds and curves and the added bonus of a single drop of water running down a petal.

Martin

Looks like 2010 was a great year for so many photographers with outstanding results.
This Humming bird showed up as the last rays of sun was fading.

oh my gosh, everyone's shots are beautiful. Too many wonderful shots to comment on all the good ones, but I must say Raymond that is absolutely breathtaking! What kind of Toucan is he?

This is a shot taken at about 200 yards away of a juvenile dolphin in the wild. Taken in Tampa Bay in June 2010. I've taken hundreds of pictures of dolphins in the wild, but I had never photographed a juvenile in the wild until now.

Got this shot at about 100' away.
D3, 70-200mm with a 1.4 extender.
I was very happy he was after sockeye and not me.
As you can see it was a bright sunny day and hard to shoot.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you Thang ... and to all FM'ers!

Here's a shot taken earlier this week in BDA. I was with Joshua (AgeoJO) and Aravind (thedigitalbean). I was so focussed on this shot and other tight shots that I missed the stunning "big picture" sunset captured by Aravind here:

http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/965969

All the best for 2011!

Cheers,
Bobby

Thats a very nice capture Bobby, the overall color palette is very pleasing.

Tons of awesome imges posted here. Happy Holidays to all of you FMers!

Since I just got back after spending some great times shooting with Bobby and Aravind at Bosque and to continue the sandhill posts here is mine. Not necessarily my best of the year but it is a little different rendition of a sandy....
