I have the TC 1.4, but did not see this lens listed as being able to be used with the TC 2.0 Mk III.

Can anyone enlighten? TIA, KL

it should work just fine IMO
but I am not sure - dont use anything over 17

Any Nikon TC made in the last 10-15 years years will work just fine... TC-14E, TC-20E, TC-14EII, TC-17EII, TC-20EII, TC20EIII.

I have a Sigma 1.4 TC that works somewhat fine on my 80-200 AF-S, the only downfall is that it hunts for focus quite a bit. I have also used a TC-14E II and a TC-17E II on it which worked absolutely great.

@ molson: that's great�but why is this lens not listed on B&H's reference page, I wonder. I am very glad to hear this, BTW; the new version of the TC20III is supposed to be excellent. Thanks.

Perhaps it's because it's been discontinued for the better part of a decade now?

Mine works well with the Kenko Pro 300 2X. Just requires a bump in contrast, but stays sharp enough. With Nikon, I think I'd stay with the 1.7x.

Any of the Nikon TC-E teleconverters will work with the 80-200mm f2.8 perfectly. I know that the Nikon teleconverters will not work with Sigma lenses so would expect the reverse to be true as well. Any TC is going to degrade image quality so might as well buy the best you can find.
