WA #416 Sand on the Rocks

A cool, refreshing drink served "on the rocks"?

This time it is ALL rocks...
Background = white sand
Cola = dark sand
Ice Cubes = Sea Glass
Bottle & Cup = Glass (ground rock)

Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated!

Cool shot...I love the way you suspend things Eager. This looks like timing was a factor....Coffee Granules?

No, not coffee.....Rocks

Everything in the picture is rocks.
Backdrop - rock sand
Cola - darker rock sand
ice - rocks
glass - ground rocks (well I suppose these days it might actually be some kind of elastic polycarbonite or something...)

Thanks for the comments. I do enjoy playing around here and trying out different things. Sometimes the concepts work out much more clear in my head than they do in the final image!

Suspending things is fun.

Since I really wanted to get the "pouring action" in this shot, I made a sort of "coke bottle marionette". I attached a fising line to the neck of the bottle and another to the "waist". The other ends I attached to two ends of a short length of PVC pipe.

This allowed me to control the bottle and the angle of the bottle with one hand, while I snapped the picture wth the other hand.

At first I didn't get it, but now that I know everything is rocks it makes sense. Nicely done!

this is a great concept, I would've loved to have seen it from a lower angle. Even with a cheesy fake beachy sky backdrop. Put the cam on a tripod and compose accordingly.

I really like the "on the rocks" theme here.
