Mark - Take it all ! My hand luggage on flights is always my camera bag these days, clothes are non-essential items as far as I'm concerned !

Going away myself tomorrow for 3 nights camping on Cape Tribulation in The Daintree NP.

Almost the last of the foliage, just a few leaves. All with the D200 and my 135 2.8 "K" with factory AId ring.at ISO 200.

Leaf at f8

Leaves at f2.8

Another leaf at f2.8

And a little of the last green, loved the way the leaves help the composition, this one at f8

Thanks for the door comments. The lens only has a 5-bladed aperture, so that explanes the shape. I love the sun stars it gives with the 10 points, very pretty.

I can practice some PP on the laptop. Thanks Curtis and Leighton for your understanding.

Jeff Ages ago you posted a great shot of painted tiles in the park, it is a beautiful image. Love the Estuary!

Ed I like the foliage shot set off with the beautiful green foreground.

Steve Nice shots of Windermere. There's a hotel in the desert in Arizona with that curious name so I Googled it. That lovely lake looks nothing like the desert!

Today was the Dia de los Muertos at Escondido's California Center for the Arts, it is a much smaller but more heartfelt event, with real Dia art at the museum, a multitude of little real altars and a Dance presentation at the large theater.

I have over 1000 photos which will not be ready for a couple of weeks. Used the best MF event lens, the 50-300mm 4.5 ED ais, I do own the 80-200mm 2.8 ED ais, I like the 50-300 better for this use and it gets me great resuls.

Here is a sample, the one at the bottom, if you are curious about the lens it is in Flicr at full size, have to shoot this at iso 3200 which results in excellent but not natural looking images once processed.

This is at the 300mm end, fully open. I am the fastest Manual Focuser in the West.

And doing better then most of the AF crowd I am certain.

I did not give up on convincing my girlfriend that MF is the way to go with so many fine Nikkors available.

Yesterday morning was really dark at the start of the market. I'm glad of the time change so that next week we wont have to show our customers what we have using flashlights.

The first one is my daughter at her stand helping a customer. I like how the tree is lit by the street light behind it.

Both of these were taken with the 135 f2.8 Q.C. and shot wide open @ 6400 iso with no noise reduction. I love this sensor.

No noise reduction even in PP?
With my D3 at ISO speeds of 3200 or faster I get visible noise. With the D300 things were even worse. I can see why you love that sensor.

Regardless of sensor or noise, well seen. I like the flashlight shot

Not even a smidgen of noise reduction in post. And since I only shoot RAW, there is none in camera as well. Now to be fair, there are times I have to use a little NR in post depending on the subject and shadows, but I am always impressed at how little I have to use. I bet the Sony A7s is amazing since it's the new high ISO king.

Here's a scanned film image from 1995 converted to B&W using Silver Efex Pro II and Lightroom. Not sure which MF lens I used, but I only had Nikkor MF lenses at the time. The camera used was either an FM2 or an FE. Location was in the Texas Panhandle.

We had our third annual Dia de los Muertos last night, temps were down in the 40's here as well but there were brave souls who ventured out

I brought the 50 f/1.2, 85 f/1.4, 105 f/2.5, and the 70-200 f/2.8 AF, which stayed in my pocket the entire time, I only used the 50 and 85 all night, wished I'd brought the 28 with me though.
