Missed about 20 pages this week. Hope to get through some of them later this weekend. And quite cool indeed to see the 500 F4 P being used for cricket

First non-Nikon, showing up here only because its taken with the D800 + 35 f2 OC.

Bronica RF645. Fortunately it's a dead and very limited system (just 3 lenses).

Ken, actually I'm out in right field shooting towards home plate Congrats on the Df, looks like you've got a pretty good handle on it already.

Andy, your macros are out of this world!

Ratty, only by pure dumb luck. I didn't see that till I got home and started sorting.

Laura, thanks but there is a bit of a difference in feel and buttons to use. Actually it's so light weight compared to the D700 I find myself holding it on an odd angle causing a greater number of shots to be straightened. It's been a battle with the rain and heavy PT in order to get out and shoot.

Anyway, here's it's first airplane simply pointed and focused which it's viewfinder does a lot better than the D700.

The Portuguese guy selling the TC-16A is an old school Nikon shooter for almost 40 years now. He's selling his Nikon gear due to the weight. He's changing to Olympus 3/4.

I am going to chat on the phone with him later since he told me he has a few good manual focus Nikkor lenses for sale (he didn't get into details).

The TC-16A is original, with no mod for autofocus with modern Nikon dSLR.

Well I shot the fair with nothing but MF lenses. I took the 28mm f2.8 AIS, 50-135mm f3.5 AIS and the 180mm f2.8 AIS. I also took the 105mm f2.5 but didn't use it. It was a challenge at times, but I came away with some keepers. Hope my client likes them.

This one shot with the 180mm @ 3200 iso.

Was invited to the NASCAR Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen. My first attempt at shooting a race. Took the 16 3.5 and the 85 1.8 HC. Peter, I have much respect for your race car work. Thanks for looking.

You did great Scott. I really like the last one in the first set. Danica looks like she's a tiny girl.

Thank you Leighton. It was a very colorful and LOUD event. All the other drivers were much taller than Danica. She is quite petite. Size did not matter when behind the wheel as she started the race last in the 43 car field due to an engine change, but finished 21st.

I was envious of the photographers with the press passes as they were on the other side of the chain link fencing during the race. It was difficult with the crowd and fences to get good angles during the race. Not to mention those professional photographers had some pretty impressive lenses.

I know what you mean about loud. I used to photograph drag racing and those top fuel cars could really make some noise. Always keep ear plugs in your camera bag.

First and foremost Ram ... good to have you back and take a break form diapers and visit often!!

Ed thank you for the kind words and comments.

Andy, you are a macro wizard. Still love Edinburgh though.

Laura I like the "86"in the airshow shot and to think it's counterpart Mark shot in a boneyard near Krakow.

Sar the three birds are neat! Steady hand to ay the least and the D800 is not forgiving!

Ratty, are you loving the 20 2.8 yet. I think it's a sharp and useful lens despite being so wide.

Jose you post an excellent Kiskadee and Tanager and then the moon shot blows them both away.

Ray well frame stairway and lamp with the selfie in between. Nice job!

John, quite the pano's and like the snow. It is HOT here!

Ronny more tremendous work from you. Good color and contrast in these.

Francesco, thanks for sharing your holiday and remember there is always next year!!

Jay a rose is a rose and is that the last one ... Says a lot about people that shot.

Raphael a very happy birthday and fine choice of a gift. The best 180 I've ever seen. mine is such a dog. I like the license plate bracket clean and simple!

Ryan Truthfully, when I was scrolling down the page there was a Rolex ad and your jewelry shot was better than the pro photo.

Roberto the 16A shots are pretty good captures with the heavy lens.

David, Detroit owes you ... the only shots making that city look good are from you

Leighton, I see your 180 works well for you. What a great lens and in your hands its a keeper for you too!

Scott lucky dog you went to Watkins Glen. I watched the race and the "9" car driven by Ambrose was the odds on favorite until; Allmendinger out-drove him. You did well, all my races are AF .. 300mm using a monopod. Thanks for posting.

Here are a couple on the Df learning curve. This is a pleasure to carry and shoot very clear focus screen and love the external settings.

No Ken. Next break is for end if the year. But it does nit mean photography ends.
This two weeks I used my AF glass for most of my better photography, while getting to know the MF. next I am going to use some of the MF I played with for some better photography (like the 50/1.2, the 85h and the 180).
Btw has anybody here both the 180ed and the 200ed/2? Is the latter worth the size and money?
I found a couple of them and I am seriously debating if getting one,
