Rafael, Those lenses are beautiful.. Glad they are int he proper hands . Also love the color, contrast and expression on the portrait!

Ronny, Love the rocks! So many wonderful colors! Even though I am and avid 28 2.8 ais user you can see at spots where this lense starts to fall short (details at infinity).

Mark, Very nice set I am a huge fan of the second image with the kelp and water very nice!

Samy, You are really making me want to pull a trigger on a fm2 so I can start shooting tri-x again great images!

Nuno, Liking these beach "bums" more then the last set, nice eye

Hien, Nice isolation of the flower vs background. I wish there was some focus stackign going on here so the tip of the flower wasnt out of focus.

Peter, I will keep saying it killer work with that 16 in some inspiring locations!

Andy, The macro king strikes again. Love the fly

Dua, Killer macros again love the painterly DOF in the last flower.

Jay, That spider makes me want to run far far away. Nice capture!

Well it is my favorite day of the week to walk home. The tourists are out, the sun is bright, and the city is buzzing with positive energy. It did not disappoint. Hopefully no ones getting tired of these yet! I will be visiting the sierras tomorrow so maybe there will be some different material from me!

I love these street shots Ryan. Each one invites the eye to explore the scene. These really are delightful and evocative images. This is what street photography is all about in reality. I'll likely enjoy your work in the mountains too but I'm far from tired seeing these black and white street shots.

Your best yet. What setup?

Thanks Kevin, just the D700, 105/2.8 micro + pn11 with the ring flash for focussing light and the yn560 plus diffuser on my old macro bracket mounted on the pn11 so that the flash is more to one side rather than directly above the subject. Unfortunately it means a mag of only 1:1 so heavy cropping.

I'm contemplating getting a Raynox 150 or 250 for the front.

Some awesome close work being posted. Great work Andy, duahau and Jay. And I'm with Kevin Andy, it would be nice to know the setup you used for those photos. If you're using tubes don't forget the Shooting with Tubes thread in the Macro World forum. It is languishing at the moment and could use some support... are you listening Kevin, Ronny?

Truly awesome work in the last few pages, the SF street photography, the insect portraits, flowers, sierras

Me, I wanted to try using the 16mm 3.5 for Cruising Grand photos, I can use this lens well for landscape, particularly gardens, nothing else.

So my adventure did not go well, I do not like the photos but will share a few anyways.

Here is the lens

I can use the 8mm for this successfully,

Yeah, I am listening Curtis. My issue lately is a distinct lack of time to do anything that I want. With things being so hot, none of my flowers are in bloom either. Heck, I am not even seeing many spiders out unless it is dark. I have a couple honey-do's to do, but I also need to get inside my primary sound system (my everyday one, not the Marantz) to find out why it hits the thermal cutoff at ambient room temps. Will try and take a few macros in there. I saw a technique I want to try out that might make for an elegant view of electrical paths and components.

Ryan, Philippe, Ken and Ray, thanks for the comments, and thanks gang for the likes on the Torrey Pines Sapling.

Here's another with the 105/2.5. In a walk down the beach, in the last minutes of sunlight, I came upon this half-buried shovel and was fascinated by the long shadow.

Intense look for your 20s, Chin. Now we know what's behind those marvelous pics

yeah, yeah Leighton, I still haven't dug deep into the closet for the old pics yet

Here's another one from Charleston. The lady in the front proudly proclaimed the Dock Street theater as the oldest theater in the US. A quick peek at Wikipedia confirmed that she wasn't exaggerating.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dock_Street_Theatre

"On February 12, 1736 the original Dock Street Theatre opened with a performance of The Recruiting Officer. Built on the corner of Church Street and Dock Street (now known as Queen Street), the Historic Dock Street Theatre was the first building in America built exclusively to be used for theatrical performances. Flora, the first opera performance in America, took place at the Historic Dock Street Theatre."

The original structure has been restored and renovated over the centuries, and the most recent version opened four years ago.

This is the 28 3.5 PC's take on the seating, taken from the balcony. Kodak Ultramax 400 film, on Nikon FG.

Couple more from Charleston with the 28 3.5 PC, Nikon FG on Kodak UltraMax 400.

The two buildings are side by side, 8 Chalmers Street and 6 Chalmers Street.

The German Fire Company (Deutschen Feuer Compagnie), was a fire engine house built after one of the great fires in Charleston.

And the Old Slave Mart Museum, which was built around the same time period.

And a visit to Charleston would not be complete without a glimpse of a plantation. This is the 28 3.5's perspective corrected glimpse of the Drayton Hall plantation outside town.

Good morning all! Much to like once again, but Andy's macros stood out most for me this session..... I attended a cycle race last night, and while most of my photography was done with AF lenses, I had to try a few with my two MF 16mm and 50-135. Probably not the best tool for the job, and definitely a challenge as these bikes were moving VERY fast. Anyway, it was a good night as my daughter won her division (sorry, proud Dad)... my best shot of the night was of her coming across the finish line. As it was taken with an AF lens, it can be seen here if anyone is interested...

Cheers and good light,
David
