I have what they call a Tibial Nail inside my right shin bone all the way from my ankle to my knee, made of titanium and that doesn't set the alarms off at airports. Yes, same leg as the one I attacked with a grinder

I prefer having the choice of when to do an update/upgrade, rather than someone making the choice for me.

I'm really glad though, that I got the CS6 version for the bargain price I paid for it. I have Lightroom 4 as well, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Thanks Mr. Leighton! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up getting lightroom. I think that I may be able to get it with a student discount for around $80. Just wondering what your opinion would be on that vs the $10 a month creative cloud bundle?

Egads, never thought of this thread as dangerous to health. I too had a close call this year, but fortunately had nothing more than some nasty bruises. Take care Dean, and follow the PT they give you.

Hey Leighton.

The OOF areas in that image don't look too bad. Wide open it looks very good actually ... may be a different story on film though. The 28/2.8 has a great rep ... never had one but I love my 28/2. I find the way it renders the OOF areas really nice.

I'm a bit over "people type street shots" atm and I also injured my achilles. Getting an operation next week which will see me out of action for a while unfortunately.

Dean - Good luck with your achilles surgery. I had problems with mine last year, but I seem to have it somewhat under control. BTW, I love the color coming out of that Fuji film, very nice.

Thanks, Leighton. Great to hear yours is OK ... stretch those calf muscles !! Mines just stuffed. After the MRI the surgeon booked the surgery. It will be so weird to just sit at home for 3 weeks ... I'm going to try and give up smoking as well ... after three weeks sitting around not smoking I'll probably look like Jabba the Hutt

Me, too. Back in May my wife and I were cruising in her new V-Dub Turbo Bug convertible (she was driving) when I suffered the first seizure of my life. It was a big one, I'm told, severe enough to create compression fractures in my back as I strained against the seat belts. The search for a cause revealed a golf ball-sized tumor just inside the bone covering my frontal lobe. Had n idea it was there -- the seizure was my first symptom. The tumor was an easy fix -- as brain surgery goes, I guess -- but the seizure had caused brain swelling that did some minor damage. That and my busted back resulted in a five-week hospital stay and my ongoing recovery at home.

But I've always been a lucky SOB and my luck held true. I wasn't driving. My wife stayed cool and called for an ambulance as soon as she could pull over. The paramedics were experienced and knew my brain was swelling, which meant the clock was ticking on the quality of the rest of my life. They quickly got me out of the car, onto a back board and to a hospital that was only three miles away. The ER docs immediately went to work on the swelling and kept it to a minimum. And the tumor was benign.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

The 'new' 20mm UD is here. You will see the lens below, together with my 'old' lens. The new is ai converted, the old one is not. Both have like new glass, impeccably clean, and the new one performs as well as the old one.

So now I got TWO -- I am NOT ADDICTED.

Now you get to see my garage and my laundry at 3.5, really nice results, I guess my addiction has made me shameless.

Alfa made some of the most beautiful cars in the world. I especially loved the GTV. Unfortunately, they were/are some of the world's most unreliable cars. But, just like old Triumph motorcycles, they always looked good sitting on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck.

Yeah ... I know what you mean. I had issues with each and everyone of my old Alfas ... but I didn't care at all. The way they make you feel when you are driving them is like no other car. Lets see how the current crop of 4C's hold up. The are getting great reviews in The States. The car industry needs Alfa to exist and thrive I think.
