Samy the photos from Washington are terrific. Great angles and lines!

David getting reds is a problem with Nikon. It's one thing that Canon is better

Ronny the sunsets are so beautiful. Especially the sunbeams. Very nice!

Mahai I really like your street photos. The red door is amazing but the fisherman takes the cake today. I love it!

Peter very nice use of the 20mm 3.5. Love the blue flowers!

Jay the flowers really pop against the dark background, super!

James the portrait of your mother is wonderful. @8mm 2.8 is a great portrait lens.

Rafael that 35mm looks fantastic on the classics!

Fons amazing detail in your photo and superbly framed!

Francesco I found that the 35-135 was a great lens as well. I used it at disney for some concerts a while back. I really prefer the primes You did a great job on the game photos!

Diallo congrats on the new lens and i hope to see more photos from you

Steve more classic cars and they are beauties! The Whippet is my favorite!

Curtis it's a great photo of you my friend!

Ryan great shot of the lock and door. Sharp and expertly processed!

Kevin great photo love the colors!

Leighton love the leaf. Well spotted!

Ray

Peter, this pano is simply stunning! Well done.

And the Dead tree on Kearsarge Pass is also superb, great composition.

Some caterpillar shots with my old D2Xs, experimenting a home made diffuser.

Both with D2Xs + 68mm Kenko tubes + Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 ai-s + SB-400 flash + home-made "pringles tube diffuser", hand held; ISO 400, f/10 at 1/60s, ~50% (top) and ~35% (bottom) cropped. This caterpillar had no more than 2cm.

Ryan, nice close-ups lately!

Jose, the caterpillar looks really fluffy ;-)

Mihai, I like the angler at the Danube-image a lot. The black/red street-shot is great too.

Steve, thanks for sharing your fine car-shots!

Ray, I like how you're using the 135/2!

Peter, impressive landscapes!

Leighton, the fall is near or should I read your singular leaf in another way? Nicely spotted - great use of "negative space".

Diallo, nice set with your 50/1.2!

Fons, I like your framing of the "fear-machine".

Jay, I like your roses-shot. At first I wondered about the displayed focal-length of 24mm, yeah, it really looks more like a 180mm.

James, a very nice portrait of your mother.

Rafael, always love your car-portraits.

Samy, from your Washington-set I like especially your take on the Federal Loan building.

Ronny, love your coastline-images!

Thanks for the comments on the Singer Gazelle! To be honest, I had "to wiki" the Singer-stuff. The famous sewing-machines brand is very well known over here - they had even a successful soccer-factory-team in the 1920's/1930's. I wasn't aware that the famous bicycles were belonging the later British car-manufacturer and not to the American sewing-machine-giant.

Anyway, here are two more snaps from four-wheeled rare birds:

Facel Vega from 1956 - 180/2.8ED wide open

and a Talbot from 1933 - 85/1.8H at f/4

I'm not really happy with the conversion, did probably too much grainy and gritty stuff in the last months ;-)

My dad emailed some photos taken in San Diego area of some old bumper cars that have been converted to street legal cars, and first thought when I saw them is I wonder if Rafael has taken shots of them...

It is funny how the mind works Curtis, particularly mine, I have never been a fan of the 35mm focal length, used to use it a lot on film, but mostly out of laziness or convenience.

This 608xxx 35mm 1.4 ais will likely stay, it is perfect like new. It is surprisingly not as flat field as my 35mm 1.4 46xxxx, it is a bit sharper in the center, a little more contrasty, could be

The local fire-rescue-boat (40 meters long, it was made back in the GDR) was in the shop in need of some TLC.
Wish I could have shot this perspective outdoors:

Did they polish the bottom of the boat for you, or is this all photoshop magic?

I am sure you can get this perspective in the water on a stormy day, but it probably would the last thing you see

Peter, thanks! The bottom was fairly clean after re-painting and new Anti-fouling. But most sliders in SilverEfex were in far-right-position (pumped everything up). Could look at boats for many days.

A bit off topic, but merely a heads up. Last night there was an incredible documentary about Dorthea Lange that lasted at least two hours. It is amazing! Dorthea is the female equivalent of Edward S. Curtis and his 30 year photographic study of native Americans. There is a great documentary about Curtis on Hulu called "Coming to Light", but here is the link to the PBS special about Dorthea

Great cars and boats, Georg, thanks for sharing.

All contributions are fantastic as far as I am concerned.

After so many photos of cars with 50mm+ focal lengths, the 35mm is a bit more of a street photo lens.

Wanted to show you the people side. First one at f4, rest at 1.4. 35mm 608xxx serial from ~2008

I appreciate the time you folks are spending helping me with this issue....

Here is my try, using my normal preset in Light Room, had to tone down the vibrance and saturation to tame the reds some and bring out some detail. I hope I didn't over do it.
