Third party lenses might miss out. An example is my cheapy Tokina 17mm RMC which has to go in as a 16 or 18. Apologies for mentioning it, but at current prices, I won't be getting a Nikkor 16mm anytime soon.

I know the feeling, i gave up on any ultra wide or fisheye from nikon and opted for a second hand (like new) sigma 15 fish eye.

One from this evening, stopped the Ais 135/2 down to f/11 (probably for the very first time) to get a long shutterspeed without a ND-filter (misplaced the 72-77mm-stepping-ring).

The "blue ribbon" is a streetcar/electric tram - D700 + 135/2 Ais at f/11, 2sec and ISO100

Got one roll back from last week. Portra 400 at the Arlington National Cemetery near Washington DC.

A small but moving memorial to the troops that died during the Iran hostage rescue attempt.

Taken with the 1951 Nikkor 8.5cm f2 on the S2 rangefinder.

Love the bridge photo Andy. I'd welcome a copy of that panorama on another thread I started in the City, Street and Architecture forum called Bridges of the World. This would be an amazing addition to the collection slowly developing on that thread. There are no limitations on camera system or lens used so folks can knock themselves out if they have something to share. There are so many beautiful bridges in the world I thought this new thread might get some traction but I'm not certain everyone is checking out that forum. Think about it Andy.

Thanks Curtis, actually I have already posted some in your thread over there but have now added this one and the stone bridge from Beddgelert.

(Here are the ones I posted earlier - http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1298328/14?nc=1#12444400)

I love bridges ! and in fact have drawn a few myself when working as a Structural Draughtsman, the most recent a 168m long steel girder and concrete supports one in a small place called Laura which is further up the Cape York Peninsular in the middle of nowhere ! It is 18m above the small creek below but during the Wet Season the creek becomes a torrent and last year the water level was less than a meter below the main bridge girders !
Unfortunately, I don't yet have a pic of it, but like many structures up here it has very little architectural merit

Here's a link to a news article about the bridge (residents are not complaining about my bridge, they are complaining about one replaced previously further north). You can see the old crossing to the right of the new one !

and here is a link to a thread on a 4WD forum which has some pics of the bridge but also lots of pics of the roads up the Cape for you to get an idea of the remoteness and the driving conditions. Bear in mind that you may encounter road trains on these roads !!!! (road trains in Oz are big B-Double articulated trucks with up to 3 extra trailers and can be up to 180ft long and weigh 200 tons !) and stock as the roads are not fenced.

you're not. I just bought a black NIB one. Have a silver one I have been playing with. Love the lens, had to have the black one. I'll post something with it in the near future, though what I post will pale in comparison to your lovely work!

Cool! I think it was Bjorn R. who said that it was so small that he lost his somewhere. I find I have that problem too if it's not acting as a lens cap on my D800.

Looking forward to seeing images from yours!

Curtis ... yes out of curiosity and BOREDOM!

Nikon non-CPU data allows the user to dial in the following focal lengths. Next to each number on my list is a (P) and/or a (Z) indicating the focal length is found on a prime or a zoom lens. This list is compared to Braczko's ** book and as far as my research has taken me. I am sure there are exotics out there and I did not list the CM designated lenses i.e 3.5, 10.5 CM's etc

The sole zoom only FL's in the list are the 25,43,70,86,and 360. the rest as
...Show more

So a very quick test on how this affects a lens. used the 75-150mm with 3 settings, 35mm f3.5; 80mm 3.5 and 180mm 3.5 (given the lack of 75 and 150 setting in the registry)

35 and 180 were both 1/3 of a stop under-exposed vs the 80 setting. Not sure why it does this but it seems to have some sort of impact. Lens was at 150mm. The photos are below, although lightroom tried to even things out in the import there is (to me) a slight difference in the exposure.

I tried again with the lens at the 75mm end of the scale, this time the 80mm setting was the most under-exposed, but I won't bore you with both lots of photos.

I just received an AIS135/2,8 .... since mentioned before, no this lens is not close to ZF135 or the AIS180 quality. But it is not that bad, especially considering it was a bargain, it is very small and it can still sustain the 36MP of a d800.

The only thing I find so and so, is that wide open it can suffer from CA which can be visible and therefore I might need to remove. So I was wondering if anybody here has already made a lens profile for Adobe Raw .... that could simplify life :-)
