Andy your flower photographs are very stunning. Great work!!! The Liverpool photos are very imaginative.

Chuong wonderful framing and timing on the family running

Ken I was wondering when the 20mm would come out of your bag. very nice perspective and who doesn't love your selfie

The 20mm is hard to handle from this chair ... a part of me seems to get into the frame. So here is a shot of my cage with cave diving reels dangling in the sunlight.. Colors make it interesting and the closeness of the 20 2.8 does the rest..

Thank you all for the likes & kind comments,

Ray, thanks for the comparison on the 50's bokeh;

Andy, lovely portraits and superb flowers;

Ken, gorgeous clouds;

Mark & Francesco, welcome to both of you with beautiful debut shots;

Ram, great 180/2.8 vs. 200/2 bokeh comparison; clearly the 200/2; even at f/2.8-4 is a better "cream machine";

Scott, loved the bokeh playing with 35/1.4;

Leighton, what a delicious lamb cut;

Rafael, gorgeous fireworks;

Avi, welcome back with superb sunsets;

Nuno, congrats on the new lens(es); for sure you are heavily infected by the NMFAS virus welcome to the club

Thanks for the welcome back folks.

Here are some pictures I took at Jones Falls, at a small town called Springmount, just west of Owen Sound, ON. I didn't have any filters on me, so it was the best I could do. Taken with D300 and AI'd 55/1.2 on tripod.

As we approach the 80,000 posting, there is a need to celebrate the Nikon Manual Focus lenses.

This lens or the photo is not mine but linked from a Flickr group I administer, this is a lens that straddled the rangefinder and the reflex cameras, not the same mount but the same lens. Mirror up is needed for reflex as well as the external finder (or live view)

Looks best on a rangefinder:

A very different outfit from the 2.1cm, the 8mm 2.8 ais on an F2 sports finder. (I am not going to post #80,000, just these overtures in anticipation)

Rafael, you're doing us all proud with these fine photos. I recall in the early days of this thread that you were an infrequent participant but as time has passed you've become a valued member of this particular club. You're love for these lenses is clear and you willingness to invest in them impressive. I always delight in seeing your contributions.

Thanks Curtis, this is an important milestone, got some time to adorn it.

Awesome work Rafael. Thanks for all of these. My guess is that our friends on the East coast are off to bed and our friends in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong have yet to join us. So this time belongs to folks on the West coast where all this began.

Needless to say, each time we pass another 10,000 post milestone feels important. I'd also say the same thing about the anniversary, which comes up on August 22. Interesting to note the ever changing cast of characters who participate in this particular passion. There are a few folks who've been here from the beginning, a few who joined along the way and decided to stay, and then an evolving group who come for a short while and then disappear for various and sundry reasons. It certainly has been a delight to meet folks who've been inspired by these lenses and its been a great pleasure to get to know regulars for whom this is a home in cyberspace. We definitely have been blessed.

So who will push us over 80,000?

Wonderful set Andy. It has been clear to me since you first arrived on this thread that you would make a significant contribution. You love these lenses, which is a fine starting point. Add to that the fact you're an excellent photographer with a creative approach both to capturing an image and in working with the file in post. You've shared with us some marvelous and distinctive work. I trust both that this thread will be around for a long while and that you'll be making your contribution to the effort, both with photos and with comments. I'm delighted you found us Andy...
