Don't take this line of thinking too far, most of the many lenses I own were purchased because they were bargains, not for unique optical qualities.

I got lucky as it turned out that my bargains actually take excellent and unique pictures. I love them and they work for me, but taste is highly personal

Your cat story reminds me of my Taz story. She was a kitten when the house was invaded by some mice, and she would sit by the stove waiting for them, as they would hide in the stove. At night, since she was still a kitten, I'd bring her back in the bedroom. One morning I got up, and hadn't put on my glasses, walked around the bed, and saw something on the floor. I couldn't tell what it was, and so I bent down and had to get really close (less than 8 inches) to see what it was. I groaned at what I saw, and got some TP to remove what was there on the floor. Seems she'd gotten a mouse, and left just the head.. The Godfather theme still plays in my head whenever I think of that story

Ken, I'm sure it is, just throwing a couple more suggestions in the pot Glad you're going home, and I know how anxious your wife feels about tackling the care duties. One suggestion for you though, as you get more and more able to do things for yourself, don't "push" her away too hard.

Once again hitting the like button as I am typing on the small tablet. Did manage to get myself in and out of the Tahoe safely. Robin was so relieved that she bought me lunch in the Hosp cafeteria and let me tour the parking gaage. Couple of car shots from Dr.s parking!

I go home Saturday and she is nervous about my care and handling. I have a great wife, friend and now nurse that allows me to buy lenses.

Some shots from today. Cool cat Curtis. Ray didn't see any beach blankets when we were at UT.

I knew you'd like this lens, what's NOT to like? I really like the perspective of the first one coming around the corner. The heat waves help too!

Hey Ken, to avoid re-injuring yourself, be sure you're sitting down when the hospital bill comes.

Utilizing the like button instead of comments, but Scott, I really like the way the engine exhaust is blurring out the foliage behind it, and the timing of the shot in how the engine and the rest of the train relate to each other.

Great rail images Scott

Interesting play photo Leighton .... I must try that Analog stuff one day !!

Ray .... those Uni pix are wonderful .... I bet you had Reagan in mind when capturing them

Rafael ... that Packard hood adornment is gorgeous ... looks like a Lalique figure .... somewhere I have the hood adornment from a Hispano .... I must find it !!

I'm not sure my stomach could take some of the stuff Chin likes to photograph ... in the food terms I mean .... I guess I'd have to slim down a little ... or just close my eyes and taste the chicken ......

Hey Ed .... you got me bushed just thinking about the picture ... never mind the actions .... a drink is called for now !!

Stunning sea scenes with that intense blue from Madeira Nuno

Nice dog pic Anthony .... not to sure I want to engage with you lady ... her reading material is a bit scary ....

Joe ... your theatre shot is excellent !!

Travelling people keep going regardless of the weather ...

These caravans pitched up about 2 miles from home the other day to overnight ....

Love the colours of their vehicles, they are so well maintained too .....

Some great pics out there guys. Particularly fine looking cat Curtis, and Ronny's "Beautiful Demoiselle" damselflies are spectacular. We don't see those so much round here.

I have mostly had my 105mm f2.5 AI on the D600, so here are a few images

Then for a change, the 50mm f1.2 AI went on the camera.
Obsessed with trying to get 2 pairs of eyes in focus at f1.2!

Beautiful shot! Is there a flash or reflector to camera Left? I like how this looks wide open better than I do with the same lens on Dx, I usually stop down a bit to get the effect you see here.

James, the ducks and dogs are great. Looks like the dogs were trying to assist you with their angle of posing while being photographed at 1.2!
