You don't want to have the unit too tight, then you would only be able to use it on a tripod, cos you'd be forever reframing due to moving the lens length around all the time cos it's too stiff.

Needless to say you don't want it too loose either ... same problem ...

My Leighton lens is what I would call smooth ... it doesn't creep ... it sort of strolls if set upright, but when in normal horizontal use it is just loose enough to move quickly and easily to where I want it.

Don't be too harsh on

This is exactly how mine behaves too Steve.... I like that my focus doesn't change when zooming!

Yup, Thanks Samy, I'm in Cairns, waiting for Category 5 Severe Tropical Cyclone Ita which will make landfall later today and then travel south either inland of us (as per the BOM predicted path on the bbc link) or if it stays on/near the coast near/over us (as per the JTWC predicted path) during saturday.

Gonna be a big one. Max. windspeeds of 305 km/h !!!!!

Andy

Stay safe Andy..Hope everybody is OK after the storm passes..

Dean, your multi-exposures are really fantastic. Envy about your pre-visualization-skills, honestly. The portrait of your mate is hilarious. I wonder how I would look with a cup of black coffee on my forehead ;-)

You being envious of me is absurd but a fine compliment Thank you.

Georg - a quick question if that's OK. If I were to shoot an entire roll and then send it to someone else, could they then shoot over the top of that roll to create double exposures or would everything just not line up?

I was thinking it would be interesting ... maybe I shoot a series of crazy HK backdrops and then send the roll to someone else in the world .. like yourself ... and then you shoot the roll again? Would be interesting to get this developed.

Leighton ... maybe this might be a good idea for you and I to do? We live in about as opposite places as you could get in this world. Would be funny to have back drops of frenetic HK and then a shot of farm life over the top of each image All with Nikon Film cameras & Nikon MF lenses naturally.

Just a thought ...

Ray picked a great spot for our outing today and Ken joined in. This intricate Moorish Revival building provided plenty of photo ops and is currently housing Tampa University.

You would need two "Pin Registered" cameras. They used to have optional kits for the F3 series and maybe the F2 series. That way the film will line up over the shutter opening the same in both cameras. Probably very rare

Yes Jay we had a wonderful time today with our friend Ken in Downtown Tampa. I did get a chance to use my new 28mm 2.8 AIS. I will post some photos later but I can say that I was certainly impressed. There was one photo that I really liked taken with the 55mm 1.2 K inside the Henry Plant Museum.
