Ken, I see a bird, but I'm not seeing the second mouse... and thanks. Skies were awful yesterday after the rain, sun was playing peekaboo then.

Ken Hill wrote:
Laura I like the weathervane, the fact that it was turning makes it all the more interesting. Simple photo yet great.

Steve the mouse made me think of Steamboat Willie which is the original name for you know who. Steamboat wasn't really on the plump side but a slim figure. As the pilots say any landing you can walk from is a good one. I wouldn't worry!
Extraordinary colors on the chaffinch.

I don't presume to offer advice but tell your little friend this is how proper mice camouflage themselves.

Thanks Georg, I've got a lot of misses from that episode . I get the focus I want, then I put my hand under the hood and trigger the shutter. Makes for good practicing at least. I don't have Trenchmonkey's arms yet and DOH, I should have grabbed the bushmaster!

Laura, nice take on the swan. Hand-holding a really long non-VR-lens on the V1 is really challenging (not only in terms of camera-shake inducing blur, but also from a compositional point of view) and you've mastered this task.

Very nice Craig, I love the look of the child, excellent capture

I like the comp georg, then again I'm all for the unusual. I think the thin dark line framing the picture gives it a nice touch

A big thank you for all those who have taken the time to comment on my pics.

I promise the end of the heritage museum pics is in sight !

We move on now to the tractors that I hinted at earlier. I'll do them 4 at a time in the order the appear in my flickr.

those images deserve the "Rust Award of the Week"

Racine, WI is just down the road from here, but no such thing as Wallis Tractor Corp any longer.

More birds and ducks ...

For some strange reason I only took jpegs ....

I reformatted the cards in the D800 and then when out shooting didn't notice that only jpegs were being recorded.

So I can't even refer to the raw NEF files ......

Anyway ...

See what you think ....

Steve, that has to be the Bir-Hakeim stop of the Paris Metro. I like the very classical look of the sepia conversion.

Did you mean this station Flow ??

Curtis, thank you for the heads up. This was delivered to me just a few minutes ago

A 200 mm f4 Q.C Auto Nikkor with the factory Ai kit. Looks like 9/10 cosmetically and 10/10 optically and mechanically.

I already programmed the UD Nikkor and Nikki in my non-CPU lens list which means that now all 9 spaces are filled up. (now I just need to find a UD Nikkor and a Nikki clone and the funds to pay for both )

To be honest, the 200mm is so big that I do not want to add a 300mm lens to my manual focus Nikkor kit.

I just mounted the lens and took a quick shot out of the window. It seems to be a very sharp lens, even wide open, and it does brick walls really well

So I did not get the 85/1.4 Ai-S but now I think I am getting the 85/2 Ai-S plus a PN-11. How much would this normally cost for you guys in the US?

The 85mm f2 should run under 100 Euros, and the PN-11, if you find a good deal, around 50 or 60 Euros. I got my PN-11 for 26 Euros just a few weeks ago, and PK-11, PK-12 and PK-12 in a set for 100 Euros shortly after

So 110 EUR for both already with delivery would be a good deal? Both are in mint condition.

Georg, "baltsund" and "ein tag am meer" are fantastic, as is your latest photo Chin!

Steve, exactly. The blue glass gable is distinctive for this station (the gable on the opposite side has orange glass).
My only shot at this station with MF glass:

Yes, that sounds fair enough.

For 100 euros there is not a lot that can go wrong, right?

I just picked up three more lenses that I didn't REALLY need but the deal was just too good to walk away from. I met up with a nice young man named Minh from Craigslist. He had a very nice collection of lenses and a couple of D800's plus his last few remaining manual lenses. The 24mm 2.8 AIS, 50mm 1.4 K [new] and a 105mm 2.5 AI with hood. The 24 and 105 are in excellent condition and the 50mm is very good cosmetically but the focus is a bit stiff. Anyway Ray scores again!!!

Thank you Leighton
I don't think that any of these would interest him but now I have three 105's and two 50 1.4's so I guess I should share the dups with those who are here

Chin, I'm not sure how you would have liked your airport-shots, but it works for me as it is now.

Steve, nice set of ducks with your 500/4!

Andy, love the rusty tractors!

Buddy, congrats to your 200/4! It's a lens I'd love to try sometimes (the old Q/QC-variant). Filling your remaining non-CPU-lens-list with future purchases is a great idea

Ray, congrats to your "new" lenses. Sometimes I think almost everything can be done with a 24mm and a short to medium tele (like the 105/2.5) together.

Flo, I like your colorful train-station a lot. The compressed view works very well.

Ronny, very atmospheric flower-shot, for sure a challenging test for every camera. Did you get/buy the 300/2.8 Ais?

Chin and Flo - thanks for your comments on the "sea"-shots, really much appreciated! And thanks for the "likes", all!
