I'm impressed Rafael. In another life I spent way too much time underneath a Corvette. I even pulled an engine in an unheated garage in Minnesota in JANUARY. You southern California dudes have it easy...

If I were in your neck of the woods I'd be standing on the sideline cheering you on... probably while taking a few photos... My days of working on any car are over...

Thanks for the comments. Sunsets and kitties... really stretching my photographic horizons.

Georg, the 28/2 is a nice "normal" on DX. I also have Sigma's 30/1.4, and they're both staying! Congratulations on your 400/3.5. It's the reasonable man's 400/2.8: take off 2/3-stop, half the weight and half the price (even today). As sharp as the day is long. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

Nancy, the first pic is a very nice scenic. And cute cat. What all does she chew?

Samy, he chews everything, especially metal(!). And my toes under the covers. Love your row houses.

Sar, nice looking birds. I like that you give them space to breathe.

Curtis, good Berkeley pics. Too long since I've been there.

Thanks guys, especially you Gregg for calling my wife a young lady, she'll love you!

Fons - Nice "cows". Don't be bashful with jumping in the conversation. We seem to be a little less formal than the thread on NC.

Jay - What a great shot with the 55mm. I'm telling you, it's getting harder and harder. Sorry, can't help you with the BR2A.

Thanks for all the fine compliments, i see a lot of good photography here.
Leighton to answer your remark i am not shy, but not much of a talker either.
I frequent more than one site contributing images and a few remarks,
point is i dont only shoot mf nikkors but also af and 3rd party
albeit on nikon bodies.
cheers

Tried my hand at reversing with 28/2.8 @f16 and PN-11. It's not my cheapest MF lens but I did take the pic last week

(Cheapest is the 135/2.8 that I have been using for portraits in the studio this week.)

Good grief Fons, you're a busy man, no wonder you don't say much. No problem though, we enjoy seeing your work anyway.

A quick walking-by-landscape (or sort of landscape) with the challenge-lens:

Lester - cool perspective, I love the shape of the limbs.

Georg - That's an interesting combination of subject matter. I really like the red pole in the middle of nowhere.

Wow.. impressing images. I "liked" them a lot. I did not realize either that the cheapest lens should be in play., my cheapest is the $25 50mm f1.8 AI and the 36-72 f3.5 E.
But the challenger lens 85mm f2 was not expensive either. I bought it from a Gentleman from Oakville, Ontario for $50 who had no idea what it was worth.

Well here are couple of shots with the 85 on my D40.

Ray - Well, we've had a good laugh over the past few days and your lenses should keep you busy for a while! Good job!

Georg - Have great times ahead with your 400 ... are you up to a try out with the V1?

Chuong - I remember when mine were that young and NEVER stayed in focus!

Samy - Your Baltimore shots are inviting and make me want to walk the streets you've been on and see each house!

Curtis - Some great framing on the candle/bokeh shot. Very interesting.

Scott - The "posted" building is well captured and the sign and the house numbers make it all too real.

Reagan - I'll have to look but when I was atop the boat I have shots of you taking these shots. Good perspective and angle.

Kevin - Welcome "Bow tie" car guy! My daughter reminds me of the rides in the "Vette" WITHOUT SEAT BELTS!

Andy - Terrific Hibiscus.

Lester - Nice take on the tree.

Rafael - I had a '68 with a removable hard top that lived on jack stands. We have a lot to talk about, I have a Browning Superposed O/U that I'm about to use on my C5. My problem is in this body Control Module. Very few "grease monkeys" anymore just "techs!"

Leighton - you're not serious about "middle of nowhere", right? That's my beloved homecountry!!! Thanks for your comment ;-)

Ram, the challenge was not about the very cheapest lens at all, rather about one rather light and not too expensive lens, if I understood Peter right. Nice work with your 85/2, my copy of this lens seem to grow on me

Lestor, the shape of the branches reminds me of a windmill somehow. Nice work with your 28/2.8E!

Thanks. The 85 f2 copy I have has the best manual focus ring that is so smooth and a focal length that is versatile on FX.
