Wife has family down that way. Might hit you up if they get obnoxious.

Anyone able to point me towards a 55/1.2 that either is AI or AI'd? I have wanted one forever and it's my favorite FL.

Yikes! I've been happy with files from our D90, better than D40 & D200 (yes, in that order). Would expect D7k to kill 'em.

Thanks, Scott! Only a snapshot. I'll work for better. Maybe with the D40.

The D90 is a very capable camera. My girlfriend uses a D90 and for anything but high speed action it delivers better results then my D300 using the same sensor. I have no fear of using the D90 at ISO speeds up to 1000

Peter, I take you up on that challenge and limit myself to the smaller and lighter 50mm f1,4 S.C

I paid $80 for my copy, which performs very well on a D300. I use it on my Sony NEX most of the time, and the combination is really small and light.

Other lenses I like on the NEX are the 28mm f2,8 and the 105 f2,5 P.C. Would love to have a 20mm f3,5 for the NEX as well though to round out the compact kit.

Love your compositions Scott. And looking forward to that snow melting. A couple of over freezing days here finally, but don't know if it will last

It was 84 here today and sunny so I went to the airport which is busy preparing for the Sun n Fun in April. Saw these planes and tried the 55mm 1.2SC and the 16mm 2.8 Fisheye.

(The 18mm EXIF should be 16mm. I set the wrong non-CPU data!)

The great melt is happening, but evidently it isn't lasting too long. At this point, I'll be extremely happy if there's no ice for the next polar vortex.

Nancy, sorry to hear of the loss, I know what that's like, but glad you adopted these two Very nice!

Kitties and a single lens? Done and done!

We lost 2 cats in 6 months, but have happily moved on to the next generation with a pair of rescues. Say hello to Chewy, being groomed by his sister Clarice. Happily they are not camera shy, and the built-in gray balance is a bonus. I'm still working on the white tones...

Scott - Love the composition and clarity of the image. The white balance and exposure are spot on as well.

Ram - Very nice profile shot. Now, if we could just get everybody to do this.

Ray - Outstanding Image, I like everything about it, perhaps that new lens should just be glued on your camera.

Phillippe- two beauts. The 1st almost had me fooled into thinking "selective colour" for a minute!

Leighton - the fountain looks like bronze in that light.

Ken - terrific aero shots. Glad you're joining in. Gorgeous cat shots!

Samy and Kevin - looking forward to the results

Scott - masterly balance of snow, barn and sky.

Kumar - very good portrait and lighting.

Rafael - great to see you're joining in. Look forward to the results.

Ray - do those who ride Valkyries go straight to Valhalla? Great image.

Buddy - good to see that mine isn't the most beat up lens on the thread! Look forward to the results!

Nancy - always sad to lose an animal. The newies look lovely though.

Also with the 28 2.8 AIS, but an oldie as the stuff I've shot just a few days back is ... still in the FE2 (3 exposures left)

really nice and sharp photo.. Here is a squirrel photo taken by the Challenge lens 85mm f2 last year on my D40. I love the D40 because its so light and nimble. When using the 50mm E Series pancake lens, it almost becomes a point and shoot.
