Although not taken on a Nikon camera, I did use my beloved Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8 @ f/2.8. Was thinking about Phillipe and Dean when I took/processed this.

24 hours of catching up......................................

Philippe, I like the art wall.

Peter, nice work with the 500mm and the Thesen House composition.

Georg, great harbor scenes. Bringing the ark into port.....do you know something we do not?

Samy, lovely stained glass image.

John, good steady hand with the ferry shot.

Chin, great detail in the bullet train image. Nice control of the black areas.

Steve, thank you for saving a sample of this film. This and the 64 were my mainstay for many years.

Chuong, nice lighting in the 18 and over image. I did hesitate a bit scrolling down when I saw the title.

Mahai, good to see you posting. I am sure Reagan and Philippe will approve.

John, very nice and atmospheric ferry-shot! I like the mood a lot. Btw, I've found it's much harder to work with very low contrast moderate-ISO-files than with more contrasty high-ISO-NEF's.

Thanks Georg -

Yes I think you are right - it's hard to put contrast into a moderate ISO scene.
This was a case of making lemonade out of lemons with such an image.

Thanks Kevin and Scott! I went quickly on flickr and you have a nice set there Kevin. I was impressed to see pictures with a very old lens you have, from a strange manufacturer.

One more try with the same setup:

Thanks Scott - sometimes the poor mans VR (AKA a heavy lens+ camera) works well to get a sharp image as long as you can hold it w/o becoming shaky from the weight.

I wonder what's wrong with me or with FM... It is enlarging the pictures by default? They look about 50% bigger than they really are... I didn't posted pictures for so long that I may do something wrong

John - Always good to see you pop in with images.

Thanks Leighton - These days it's a time issue as opposed to lack of motivation that keeps me from participating more.
Plus more of my more casual shots have been with my new GX7 which goes places that D800 has a hard time going.

I thought you were going to get the Olympus? That e-m1 sure looks like a nice camera. But then again, so does the GX7.

Great work recently everyone. Not so much photography from me recently, but today I did take the camera out. Here's Margot on the Dolderbahn (a funicular) heading down to a less elevated part of Zürich, enthralled by the view out the front window. 28mm f/2.8 AI-s, wide open.

Lovely images Chin.

Chuong - your youngster is really growing quickly.

Mihai - good to see some of your work and to have you back.

Steve - more good stuff.

Thanks - I was never really interested in this lens, but my recent search for Nikkor's with cinematic flare- and ghosting-qualities...

I've got the flare bug myself. I should be getting my 35-70 3.5 Ai with the 72mm filter ring Monday and can't wait to put it through its paces. Just need a little sun here in Seattle!

Well, the EM-1 sure is nice, but it lacks built-in flash, has the arcane Oly menu system, and is not as light or compact as I'd like. The IBIS of the GX7 works quite well, the body is small enough, it has a logical menu system, and has a built-in flash. It was also less expensive.

Philip, I'm sure Margot thinks "wow" while seeing the world drifting by. A really wonderful child-portrait!

Mihai, great to see some of your work again! Your second portrait is my personal fav, I like the light and expression a lot.

Chuong, beautiful work! I've had the waist-level-finder for my F5 and shot tons of images from down below ("Frogs-view" ;-)). A great addition for any wide-angle-shooter. And the "real" portrait is wonderful too.

Buddy, sorry to hear you're losing Amy, even if the loss is maybe not a definite one.

Chin, very cool take on the mall. The bullet-train looks like the head of a sturgeon. Nice catch!

Steve, I like your stone-cottage-shots a lot. Never tried Kodachrome - what a shame.
