Did I recommend a photography book? Dave duChemin perhaps, that's the one I go for before trips

Wow, he does some amazing stuff. Worth a look on his site. Thanks for the name.

The Leicas or the 50-135mm??

Love the 50-135 .... just carrying that and the 28mm along with a 180mm recently ....

That's a nice combo in the bag, and slipped in an SB400 just in case I need more light, when not challenging myself.

Glad you set the lead on that lens Leighton. Thank you.

Steve

I actually tuned the image darker ... err more mysterious?

iirc Dave duChemin fell down maybe early 2011. I remember following his blog posts and other on-scene photog's blogs about that incident. Was in pretty bad shape.

Canal City mall in Hakata
Oddly I was in Canal City in Kitakyushu a few years back, the malls seem so alike
Actually guessed the name before my friend confirmed it
Tried to isolate the winter decorations hanging in the courtyard
with the 50 1.2 AIS

As an aside, Ray endorses this shot as one of my best. There, I had to say it

After what seems like an eternity of part absence, part only reading and gazing at the nice images made with these nice Nikkor lenses I finally managed to capture a ray of sunshine.

Thanks Kevin, Leighton. Not a Shephard but a Husky mix.
Im happy she did not die but she went with my girlfriend who decided to leave me over Christmas.

Good premonition on the Shephard nonetheless. My new girlfriend has both a Cocker and a Shephard.

Still, I loose one of the most fascinating and primal dogs I ever got to know, and with that a good friend. She communicated so different from other dogs that we managed to build up a near empathic communication based largely on body language. Subtle signals like a casual wave with a hand to release or hold on the spot, a nick of the head to communicate approval, turning in a shoulder to change direction. Didnt need much training either. She invited me to this kind of communication.

Amy, the Shephard, seems very domesticated in return. I will really miss the original primal communication I had with Holly and if my path in life allows it, my next dog will be a wolf hybrid (Saarloos)
