Nice leaves

I like the way that 50mm E series lens renders. Very much like the 50mm f2 Ai

All of these shots using the 35mm 1.4 AIS is very inspiring. It truly is a Nikon Classic. Although many complain about it's jittery bokeh, I for one absolutely love that about this lens. It also is a very sharp lens and provides excellent color.

Thanks guys for the comments on the "brainy" lichen

Ray, loved the "nervous" bokeh on the yellow flowers with 35/1.4;

Royston, welcome and what a debut set with the 105/2.5.

Jose, I can only echo Ray's comment: Wow!

Ray, the flower-shot really brings out the 35/1.4's unique signature (that I love).

Jay, the rendering of your "fence-example" is also very typical for the 35/1.4.

Petur, I like the shape of the coast on your 25-50/4-shot.
This lens is one of a few MF-Nikkor's I really wanna try - maybe sometimes… My go-to-24mm is the 14-24/2.8, amazing performer, but what a brick of a lens ;-) The 24/2.8 is a good to great performer in a neat package (and takes filters very well), the 24/2 is for me more a special-effects-lens (crazy bokeh can be provoked).

Brian and Jenny, what a nice set from the living-museum-village! I like especially the framing of the very first shot. Great work with the legendary 105/2.5!

Rafael, wonderful 55/1.2-portrait! I can understand your thoughts about the Df. 16MP are more than enough for my needs, in my opinion Nikon did the Df half-heartedly. No real innovations (apart from the ability to mount non-Ai-Nikkor's) and to much buttons/dials/features for a clean looking retro-camera.

David, the Alabama-leaf-colors with your 50/1.8E are looking really nice!

Thank you Georg.
Steve your photos always inspire me, but I have to say that I am mad at you!. I had just convinced myself that I did not need the 55mm 1.2 and then you come along and post these amazing photos using just that lens. Now I have to reexamine my thoughts

I don't need, I don't need, I don't need

Ray, you do. Sorry that I have not posted any other comparisons but the weather over here is really disappointing. I fear that even my D300 drowns with all the rain we have and I don´t want to take any risks with the 55 or the 50mm lenses.

Steve, that photograph of the royal exchange arcade is just awesome. That shows exactly why I like the 55 f1,2 S.C so much.

Steve, congrats to your building - it even comes with turkeys ;-) Nice night-time-shots with the 55/1.2!

Here's a shot from the summer-vacation, a typical vacation-subject too: fishing vessels of mixed size, age and shape ;-)

Framing lacks a clear mind behind the camera ;-) D3s, 55/1.2 wide open, 1/25sec at ISO6400
I'm playing with the trendy VSCO-presets (or is the trend already over?) right now, anyway, I like the colors I got here.

One of the things I really like about the 35mm ais is the ability to literally wipe the background out when wide open with it's 9 bladed iris, it's sharp, and it handles the sun well too. Nervous bokeh is not a given with all highlights - it can be creamy too.

35mm ais @f1.4

35mm ais @f16

35mm ais @f5.6

I've added another 105mm to the 105 f2.5 ais I already have...this one is the f4.0 ais micro. It is a beautiful mint copy. Only negative so far is that it is a little soft at infinity, but that is not what it is for.
