For me it is the 105 2.5 hands down
Both on FF and DX
It is the only lens that I have never sold

Don't get started on favourite lenses, we did a list of 12 steps of buying into the MF Nikkors a while back. The real question should be which is the lens you will select to carry during the apocalypse - for me it is the 55 1,2. any version.

Or, maybe if we are so limited one of the 28mm 2.0. On a film camera, we could make film with old plastic and silver.

Wow, your Nikomat is in such nice shape! I am jealous! (I have a thing for Nikkormat and Nikomat, I would take one of those over an F2 any day).

Peter, they are not all 28mm as the exit suggests. I forgot to change the setting in the menu

But if you are talking about The Box Theatre shot. Then no correction has been applied.

That is the beauty of its architecture. It's twisted

I just couldn't resist it and that was with the 28mm

Rick - awesome ice. Both of us are looking forward to the Canadian summer

The helmet shots could be from an ad. Well done.

Ok, first of all I want to make it clear to everybody my name is Eric not Rick!!

Yeah, can't wait for the summer, oh beautiful beast waiting for me!!

I decide to use my backdrop for the helmet shot. I will use it for my bike pictures this summer. It makes me realize my lack of lighting gear. I have 3 flash but they are not powerful enought!! I would need a nice stronger flash for main light(einstein

Sorry Eric - I wasn't thinking.

The reason my glass stays pretty full is -

a. that's the way I see life; and,
b. I'm not drinking for January to get rid of a few extra kilos packed on in December!

Wow, this is easily my favorite thread to view. I can't wait to get home from work each day so I can login to see the incredible photography posted here.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement regarding my images that I have posted.

And to think, with all the uber-expensive, plasticy, new Nikkors available today, we choose to use hand-me-down, camera show bargain Nikkors of years past to make incredibly beautiful images.

A great big thanks to Nikon and the F-mount for keeping these lenses useful with today's digital cameras

Has anyone documented what are some of the more

Larry, this is what happens when one discovers the joy of shooting with these lenses. They get addicted to the them, the feel of them sometimes is all it takes! Not to mention the results that they get.

As far as most popular, like Rafael said, that's a tough question. There are the "desert island lenses" that Curtis came up with. I believe these are the 28 f2.8 AIS, 35 f1.4 AIS, 50/55 f1.2 AI/AIS, 85 f1.4 AIS, 105 f2.5 AIS and the 180 f2.8 ED AIS.

Of course everyone has their own version of this, but this is a good start! Good luck with building your kit and I'm glad you found us.

I'm sorry, but like Reagan, I've become lazy as well by relying on the like button. Needless to say that the images posted lately are really nice.

That's the beauty of the tropics, I can go there 365 Leighton !

I'm sure tripods are fine, the only thing you're not allowed to do is stand on the beds. Not a problem usually as there is always at least 1 of the clump with flowers sticking out over the grass.

Do many of your manual-focus users use the DK-17M eyepiece? If so, how do you like it? I have a D800 and considering one

I used it on my D700 and I liked it. Since switching over to the D600, I no longer have it on but would like to make a mod to fit on the D600 one day.

It is nice, it helps to focus better but harder to see the whole picture for framing.
