Haven't posted in a while. The Nikon DF has my juices flowing so I took the 135/2 AIS out while trick-or-treating tonight. Used the poor-mans VR - i.e, pure lens mass.

Great series John. Nice work without a tripod.

Tom and Scott - thanks for your comments on the "wood-set"!

Here are some shots from today, hope it's okay to fill this fine thread with some more PC-Nikkor-images ;-)

the local fairground-hall, shot this one after leaving a game-fair, D700, PC 28/3.5 at f/8
no or just minimal shift used

merged/stitched two horizontal shots with the PC 85/2.8D - one shifted all the way up, the other shifted down

the red "slip cover" made me shoot this after taking a few more usual images of the sailing vessel
D700 and PC 28/3.5 at f/11, shifted about 5mm down

Wow Georg, these are very sharp and well composed! I really like the reflection shots. The PC lens gives amazing depth of field.

Georg

Thanks

I wrestled the camera from her as she was shooting pumpkins and barely had time to get close on exposure w the shutter speed!

Ray, nice bokeh-play - the 50/1.4K should be a lot of fun for wide-open-shots in front of backlit foliage…

Kevin, to be honest: I prefer the "un-painted" B&W-version of the mascot.

Ronny, great work on the wilting flower!

Eric, I like your portraits in general and the latest one too. I wonder why you didn't raised the ISO.

Buddy, nice shots from your walk through the woods. I hope the wild hog was behind a fence ;-) I wholeheartedly agree about the different characters of the 55/1.2 vs 50/1.4SC.

Thanks for the comments on my recents shots - much appreciated!

Kevin Your Halloween inspired image doesn't show here, but the reworked one does.
You make the mascot look pretty fierce with the red eye.

Ray Nice colorful candy. The backgrounds with the 50mm 1.4 K look molten.

Rafael Very colorful and macabre. Looks like these guys must work overtime to produce these displays.

Scott Lovely landscapes, I don't seem to get much fall scenery here.

Jose Very impressive mountain, I had to Google the local and found the area very interesting.

Jeff Wow, that plane looks like a space ship, great shooting.

Samy That candy bar looks like a sophisticated ad. They should hire you!

John Beautiful night shots, these really capture the trick or treat experience.

Georg Good work with the 28mm. I like the PC lenses alot. The ships with that spot of color really is super.

Ronny Looks like the 180 and tubes is a great combination in the right hands.

Stedge Very good portrait.

Buddy The toadstools growing out of the log are my favorite.

Not a trace of fall here, these woods have a huge range of brightness on a clear day. D800 with 105mm f/2.5 @ f/2.5 Sonnar with polarizer.

5 shot pano using D800 and 28mm f/2 @ f/2 and polarizer.

Jay, I really like that forest picture. Especially how you see a little bit of blue sky in the background. I havenīt seen blue sky in the past few days

The forests with their toadstools, mosses and ferns, treetrunks. I really like walking through them and sometimes even forget that I brought a camera with me.

Georg, the hog was behind a fence and both the hog and I were quite happy with that state of affairs. Unfortunately that didnīt stop my dog from stealing a sandwich from the hogs side of the fence. As you can see in the picture the hog didnīt think to much of that though.

Jay, the deep green forest looks great.

Jay and Scott - thanks for your comments on the PC-shots! The "sharp look" might be result of overprocessing. I always have trouble to get natural looking web-sized images. Sometimes my downsizing-routine works nicely, sometimes not

Thanks folks on the comments about the Twix shot. Jay, you are too kind, my sense of art is quite limited.

The fall colors in Maryland are around the peak, got the 10.5cm f2.5 lens out for a walk today.

Here's two from this morning, will need to sift through the others.

Gotta love the "Bow Tie"

Reagan, great Chevelle, want to trade for a 73 vette with a bad right rear bearing?

Beautiful sunset Chin

Beautiful use of the 50 1.8 E David

Georgeous woods Georg

Lovely village Petur

Fantastic Pano of Lake Macardi Jose

Jay, how did the PCE change the symmetry of the old Dodge?

Scott, has fall started yet?

Great shot Jeff, in San Diego every landing is a near miss

Mihai, great to hear that you have been on the mend and congrats on the Sigma and the contest win!! Whenever you do get a chance, would love to see more from Dracula-land again!

Leighton, across the valley was wonderful, that cloud seemed to parallel the tree top contour.

Petur, great 35mm portrait of your ornithologist friend. And enjoyed your Oldsmobile 20 2.8 closeup.

Steve, nicely captured Yosemite image. Reminder to me just how much I have not seen even in the States.

Reagan, enjoying the car show pics. And hang on the latest camera for a while

Chin, the subtle scallion sisters is another superb image from you!

David, all the best on the other forum! We have enjoyed your participation. Agreed that the older lenses likely don't have the level of sharpness that some of the modern ones do. Although a bunch of us have other reasons for the affection for classic Nikkors that don't have to do with sharpness. I do peek into the Zeiss and Leica forums off and on, so will look out for your posts there.

David jr., welcome, the bakery image and the shots of the young one are terrific!!

Georg, superb shots in the woods with the 55 1.2. Somewhere in the back of my mind I had thoughts about trying to emulate those during my walk today. Really loved that deformed tree trunk.

Jose, welcome back and bringing us that wonderful scene from that island.

Jay, what did your 24 PCE do to that 40 Chevy?? Was that car really distorted or is it a trick with the PCE lens

Ray (FL), delightful candy product shot. And loved the plant with the bokeh behind it with the 50 1.4 K lens.

Rafael, the halloween wedding on the pickup flatbed is funny! And so is the look on the man's face while walking next to a scary face.

Scott, loved the "last vestiges of fall", both the images, very tranquil place.

Jeff, great capture of the landing plane right over the "Antiques" sign.

John, nice pictures of your trick or treating kids and of the live tree.

Georg, its always great to fill the thread with your PC-Nikkor images, I really love all three that you have in the set.

Kevin, cool saber toothed tiger with the Series E 50.

Eric, great to see you here back again. Very nicely lit pic of your daughter.

Ronny, great lighting as usual on the flower.

Buddy, nice 55 1.2 images, including that of your dog. Is that the 200-600 zoom on the undersized camera ( : ) ).

Both the fall leaves in my previous post and these two images are with the 10.5cm f2.5, all these images are I believe somewhere between f/2.5 to f4.
