Chuong, the FG looks neat with the 45 pancake on it, congrats

Americo, I hope the 85/1.2 will work for you. Spending some money on the "theoretical background" of photography is always and for everyone a good idea.

Kevin, sorry, apart from basic visual checks I don't know how to prove a monitor's calibration (excl. a second calibration tool). Modern displays are less prone to change colors than the good ol' tubes to my knowledge.

Jay, thanks for your comment on the pre-fab-building.

Thanks for the complements on the Saguaro.

Rafael You really are showing what a great lens that 8mm is. I have a lot of trouble with my 16mm, and imagine this one must be a bear to shoot.

This is one I bought for collecting, it takes about a month for me to think of a good photograph to take with it. The lens is incredibly sharp in the center and does well until you reach the extreme edges. Fisheyes require thinking on a different perspective.

This happens periodically, Curtis starts talking about his muse and his activity here dminishes. But then he is always back reinvigorated

This page looks a bit "naked" without a picture, so here's another shot from my hometown:

historical buildings shot while killing some spare time, D700 and PC 85/2.8D shifted all the way up
It's always troublesome to get "undistorted" shots from old buildings because they all are crooked a bit - some more, some less...

We took our annual ride over the mountain to get apples today and stopped at one of our favorite places for lunch. They have very good food as well as really good home brew. I had the cheeseburger and a Pilsner.

Ken, nice collection of tools! How do you like the 500/8 Reflex' tripod-collar? I think about adding a Reflex-Nikkor to my kit and read different stories about it's tripod-mount.

Jorge, your street-portraits are always very nice and the example above no exception. Do you process B&W on your own?

Leighton, very nice set from your trip! The burger looks tasty (the Pilsner too, but lately I prefer wheat-beer :-).
I really have to think about getting the 28/2.8 Ais - it's background-rendering up close looks great to my eyes.

Thanks for your comment, Ray!

Thanks Georg! I believe I like wheat beers better too. The 28/2.8 AIS is a great lens. I'm really surprised you don't have this one in your arsenal.

Ken you've got a couple of nice Nikon MF bits there in your kit.

Jorge nice film stuff

Georg I love your PC Shift shots recently. I must look out for a shift lens.

Leighton, so no BigMac for you then. Only real meat on your diet sheet. And a damn fine burger it looks too. Nice views of the mountains.

Steve, thanks! Using PC-lenses can be great fun, but also a a frustrating chore if the photographer is rushing things (like I usually do).

Leighton, I have a ton of 28mm-lenses, but never tried the 28/2.8 Ais ;-) A 28/2Ai (or an Ai'd 28/2 N) was my go-to-lens after I moved to FX for newspaper-stuff. The fairly new 28/1.8 AF-S is excellent, but pretty large. So, who knows, if I should stumble over a nice Ais... ;-)
Btw, I've never had a Big-Mac in my whole life. Right after the fall of the Iron-Curtain I've tried West-Berlin's very best Döner-Kebab (quite popular here, some kind of a Turkish Burger) and didn't liked it that much, so I steared clear of this kind of food. Shortly after I've tried a Burger-King-burger (superior compared to MacD's offering, that's what was said back than by fast-food-experts to me as an poor east-German-lad) and wasn't that much impressed too, so I've erased Whoppers and BigMacs from my personal diet-plan
You could ask your sausage-makers with German roots about „Bauernfrühstück" - now that's what I really like ;-)

Reagan, its your lens shopping season again

Leighton, marvelous scenery in Virginia, as well as the burger

Steve, the 28 3.5 PC is a neat lens to use, and Jose recently got hold of a 35 PC lens. Both those are a bit less expensive than the ones that Georg and Ben wield Georg sure has been posting some great examples of how to use the PC lenses.

Jorge, very nice portrait from your 50 1.2 AIS lens.

Here's one with the 135 f2 AI. Cat on her regal perch.
