Samy, just the right amount of background blur in this one. Nicely seen.

Wow, 12hrs with no updates on this thread?

I took the 600mm lens out this morning to try it out. It was hard to focus while handheld. I missed focus on this shot because I was still doing the one shot at a time habit. Still, I love the lighting on it.

Very nice Chuong. Love the colors and composition.

Buddy, loved the last shot of dog + bokeh;
James, what a great portrait of the katydid.

Two days ago after sunset these clouds showed, so I "enlisted" the old 20mm UD for the job:

Strange clouds after sunset with Nikkor-U.D 20mm f/3.5 by labecoaves, on Flickr

D600 + Nikkor-U.D 20mm f/3.5 F ai'd supported on window sill, ISO 800, f/5.6 at 1/10s.

I was lazy to use a tripod, so needed high ISO and even I added some grains just for the "atmosphere"

Jose, very nice. I like the contrasty sky. The buildings are very sharp.

Scott, I just now saw those railroad bridge pictures. The wide landscape scene is made of pure awesome, but I also really like the details you picked out. I like the rusted pillar better with color then in B/W though, but that also has to do with me having a weak spot for the creative natural patterns corrosion often offers

The 45 was a bit too long/ for this view, but I liked the light an snapped a few shots. Full shift.

Part of the undercarriage of the Malabar Princess, an Air India Constellation which crashed on MOnt Blanc on November 3, 1950. This part was disgorged by the Les Bossons glacier in 1986 . It rests close to where it was found by the owner of the Les Bossons snack bar. Tragically Air India lost a Boeing 707 on January 24, 1966 in almost the same spot.:

Hey Peter

Nice shots in Annecy ....

I used to think that the Super Connie was the most gorgeous aircraft in the air .....

Now ... it's still gorgeous ... just not in the air any more .... shame !!!

Are you driving back to SA ... or just meandering around slowly getting home after your trip to the UK??

Great pix

Picked up another MF zoom this week

I used to own one of these many years ago and regretted selling it.

But once again it comes into the fold .... though this one has taken a beating ....

But check out that serial number .... beaten up it may be ... but the glass is excellent ....

I think I'll be keeping this one even if it's only for the number ... mid way on the production run ... approx 1984

I must get round to taking some pix with it next !!!

My wife found this little guy in front of my studio. He has pupils, and I fed him raspberry leaves, and water for two days...his name is Phyll (for chlorophyll), but I turned him loose this morning. I have about 400 more images to go through...didn't want to get too attached...you know.

James this is fabulous ....

Just a thought though .... is it a male

Cos it's usually pregnant females that you give Raspberry leaves to ......

Just joking .... love the clarity !!!

Spent a couple of nights in London this week

Obviously had to go and exercise the MF 55mm f1.2 on a walk about. Early evening.

Now Leighton might start drooling over the big cockerel, thinking how much market profit it would bring in pieces

But there is still only two breasts, two drum sticks, two legs etc ....

It's on the spare plinth in Trafalgar Square London UK if you want to catch it Leighton !!!
