I like the perspective of this one Samy, well seen.

And looking at the city from John Eager Howard's perspective. 28mm 3.5 PC. The exif might say 105mm on this, that's incorrect.

Hey Samy, I just noticed this. Is he signaling for a right turn?

Tom and Chin, really enjoy your city scapes and street scenes from the other side of the world. Tom, that last temple B&W is beautiful.

Good hypothesis Leighton. I checked the photo more minutely and came up with this crop though

A beauty Leighton. Even the light on the ground is super!

Thanks Samy. And your find of "no turns" makes that even funnier.

The inscription on the base of John Eager Howard's statue. The statue was made by Emmanuel Fremiet, who also sculpted the equestrian statue of Joan of Arc in the Place des Pyramides of Paris.

Fondeur means foundry (I looked it up ), so the LeBlanc Barbedienne foundry must have been where the material came from. 50 1.2 AIS.

Confusion all around. Makes one think of Washington rather than Baltimore

I didnīt find the time to post them here, but I made a few more pictures with the 55 f1,2 S.C (most before fixing the aperture indexing thingy so actual aperture setting could have been wide open).

On my D300 this focal length is really pleasant. Even slightly better then the 50mm lenses I tried before.

Since I combine my being outdoors mostly with walking the dog, the dog is bound to be on some of the pictures I take, or might even make it to the main subject.

55mm f1,2 S.C on D300
Aperture f1,4
Shutter speed 1/2000th
ISO speed 560

55mm f1,2 S.C on D300
Aperture f5,6
Shutter speed 1/60th
ISO speed 200

105mm f2,5 P.C on D300
Aperture f2,8
Shutter Speed 1/500th
ISO speed 200

Nikkor 200mm f4.0 ais Micro

My wife found this little guy in front of my studio. He has pupils, and I fed him raspberry leaves, and water for two days...his name is Phyll (for chlorophyll), but I turned him loose this morning. I have about 400 more images to go through...didn't want to get too attached...you know.

Kevin beat me...
A Leaf Bug or the true katydid. Phylliidae any of about 30 species of flat, green insects (order Phasmida, or Phasmatodea) that have a leaflike appearance. This one had a clear compound eye shaped lens over pupils - very off putting for a bug. Each day he/she would wave it's forelegs at me...and track me with it's stereo front facing eyes. I watched it eat and drink. I think if more bugs had eyes like this - fewer people would smash them.

Welp, just paid for a D800 and looking at fisheye options to replace my 10.5mm. Thinking that 16mm 2.8 AIS is gonna be a hit! But really, just super stoked to be going full frame and I'm thinking my MF glass collection is about to start growing
