Love that pano Chin, very nice.

Nice church Jay, that 1st one is perfect !

Cairns is a fantastic place to live but I must say, I do miss architecture !

Incidentally, I am returning to the UK in May/June (1st time since emigrating to Oz 7 years ago) for my BiLs wedding (which is actually in Turkey - Oludeniz, The Blue Lagoon, and the wedding is I believe at a church/temple way up in the hills) and my old town is full of great victorian architecture, a lot of it a bit run down too (it was a VERY rich port opposite Liverpool in the late 1800s, alas the ship building industry is gone now) so hopefully find time to get some pics in between visting the rellies.

There are a few pages on facebook that put up fantastic old pictures of area.

Also, I have just found out that our flights have been changed on the way over there so we now have a 1 night stop in Hong Kong, hopefully catch up with Dean, panos of the city, local sights etc etc.

Ronny It looks like some parts of these colorful bin photos were not run through Analog Effects and that really looks cool. I've been wondering how a before and after image would look.

Chin Hope you can save the one in the works and show it to us, these night shots are beautiful.

John I like the lighting fixtures around the tip of this tall looking structure. What does the winglet do?

Jose Looks razor sharp in the zone of focus. I've always wondered if having the CPU makes much of a difference in use.

JD Nice pelicans, never saw one do that move before.

Steve Great old buildings, the post office has great color and detail. I read somewhere that the 135 DC has focusing problems in tungsten lighting. I've been able to achieve remarkably bad results with this lens indoors but never tracked down what went wrong.

Andy Looks like all the 1st one needs is a little air in the tires!

Interesting images usine HDR Andy !!

I don't use it a lot so am not too experienced with the effects.

The Mersey shoreline has changed a lot ... even in the few years you've been away !!!

They still speak funny though ......

Looks like everyone got fed well at the wedding Jay !!

Here are a couple of mild HDR from onOne presets inspired by Andy

Cheers

Thanks Jay -

The winglets reduce the drag of the wing - producing a few percent less overall drag which adds up to quite a lot of fuel savings over the life of the aircraft.

Sounds like Ray and Andy will 'meet on the ledge'

Andy should remember that from his time in the UK

Nice explanation John .... we are all much wiser now .... this earth is getting greener in some places ...

Not sure if Andy ever frequented Manchester UK ....

But down on Deansgate there is a pub that's been there for as long as I can remember, and judging from the tile work outside ... many years before me !!!

Anyway this is a merge of 4 shots from the 28mm f3.5

Then straightened a little in PS5.5

Very nice Luc! I have a similar picture I took with my Fuji XE1 and Nikkor 50/1.4 wide open. Shame my tree has only white lights (with a Yoda on top with a green lightsaber) so not as colorful as yours.

Glad to see you back here. I have been following you on Flickr though.

Can't keep up with you guys - it's summer here and I'm outdoors all day long!!

A couple of an Australian plant alien to SA - they are serious pests as they have no natural predators here and multiply like heck.

Thanks! That is a great compliment coming from you. I am still working on my style, I always think my compositions lack... I love your work, especially your automotive shots. I am a total gearhead and grease monkey, so seeing your shots are always a pleasure.

I totally agree on the pano of Chin, great work! Very nice lens that 28mm f2.8, I have to admit I don't use mine that much as I prefer the 35-105mm focal range.

Peter, that first image has IT. Very nice.
