James That's quite a sight at the airport.

Here are a couple of 16mm f/3.5 available light photos.

My turn at a monitor-burster - stitch of 10 vertical shots
Took a bit of time with this, and still not exactly the composition I wanted
Just me holding on to the leveling base, keeping it tight against the railing
Then me slowly counting and squeezing off mirror-up shots
Against the cold, praying hard none of the jostling crowd would actually come near and bump off my 4sec exposures
Messed up the other series I think, gotta see whether it's salvageable

Wow guys, your are amazing. Since my last post 15 days ago you have posted 40 pages, an average 2.7 pages/day, needles to say with tons of great photos and conversations.
And a lot of newcomers, by the way welcome to all!

Unfortunately the end of the year was realy busy for me.
Not many shots last days, but some bokeh playing with the venerable, and as old as me , the Nikkor-P 105mm f/2.5 F ai'd and CPU'd:

What! Two hours since a post to this thread - need to fix that!

Got to crawl around one of these today for work. Can't really show any other pictures, but outside the hangar was the coolest looking little helicopter.

45/2.8 AI-P wide open on both.

Chin- What an awesome city shot! So sharp that it is almost unreal. Nice work!

Jose- Love that shot with the 105. I've been thinking about doing a CPU mod myself.

Luc- Nice Stingray shot and the angle you put on it.

Thanks everyone. I have another series taken on the other end of the railings. That's the one I need to work on. At first glance, I have a blurred shot in the middle of the series, ugh.
Oh and it's taken with the 28 2.8 AIS

Great Posts again all. Also Thanks for the responses'es to my pic's with the new lens.

Went back again today to see if the pelican was there and there were two today. Will post some tomorrow, but wanted to get this sequence out as I have not seen a pelican do this. Guess it would be a great way to stretch one's stomach out before a big meal.

I guess he was getting ready for a good fishing trip

Thanks for looking,
JD

Oh my goodness !!!

I have been busy for the last few days .... and the thread has got into runaway mode again !!!!

WOW

Just too many posts to comment on this time, so I too am having to use the like button. though there are some awesome pix, and such enthusiasm for the MF lenses - could it be due to the Df perhaps??

Great to see that our illustrious leader Curtis has been commenting and contributing his wonderful pictures too. Hope you enjoy the warmth down south Curtis.

As for Leighton - well all I can say is, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do .... great to see that Barbara supports you in your endeavours.

I have a confession to make ..... I broke the rules the other day !!!

I hear you say what rules ??

Well there must be some for MF collectors and users surely !!

I got to add to my list a 135mm f2 - so I hear you say, nothing wrong with that ..... except that it is the current DC version, although it will probably never be used in Af mode it is an AF lens so ... I can't post here !!

All a bit AC/DC for me then !!

Thanks for the inspiration folks.

Steve

Just a little trawl through the archives from a couple of months ago.

Using the 35mm f2.8 on the streets of the Northern Quarter in Manchester, I found these.

Both corrected perspective a little.

Steve, the DC lenses have great build and looks and a unique rendering. I own the 105mm DC and love it. Enjoy your 135mm!

Am I allowed to post some of my more "artier" stuff here Curtis ?

All taken with MF nikkor lenses on Nikon bodies, they just happen to be hdr blends post processed usually in photomatix.

These are a little extreme for some people's tastes, I have a few from Melbourne that may be more people's cup of tea that I'll post later.

PS - got a 135/2.8 ais off the B&S today for $115 , probably just need a 180/2.8 to complete my MF range/needs......for now
