Sorry Pete, maybe I shouldn't have list the
lens as LNIB +10. The scratch you see is only a small mark that I made when using my Rocket blower.

Nah , sorry to hear about your bad experience.

It is a really nice photo Ray and I think I am going to follow your lead in carrying just two lenses. Yesterday I found that I only used two lense but carried five. So a lighter load is definately in order!

Ray, for my outings, I limit myself to three or fewer lenses, not only for less weight, but I find I can compose better with fewer choices!

One with the 55 f2.8 AIS Micro on the D700. It is super sharp across the frame, a wonderful testament to lens designer skills before the days of computers. The fact that the lens is still "tight", and a tactile joy to use, is a testament to the manufacturing of the lenses.

Ray, I like this maple frost. The grass has a very heavy stiff look to it.

Had a once in a lifetime opportunity today with not only a ride on the Goodyear blimp, but also got about ten minutes at the controls! The flight was organized for the USAF Test Pilot School where I work. One of the students fell out and I was offered the seat. It was an unbelievable opportunity and very thankful.

The blimp was actually pretty simple to fly. The large wheel next to the pilot seat controls elevation and yaw with rudder pedals. Controls are slow to react as we only flew at about 30 knots. Enjoy!

Love your 135mm 2.0 Ronny

Ron, great use of the 55mm at 2.0 with your friends and congrats on the Df

Steve, wet streets and the 28mm go well together

Thought inspiring path Ohio Ray, so is the maple leaf BW

Very vertical lines with the 45 Chin, love the smoothness of in and out of focus transition with your new 135mm 2.8, the Kaiju photo is intriguing

Jay, the 55 1.2 club is a good one indeed

Ian Boys, I find the 50 1.2 much harder to focus than the55 1.2, but you get it right on.

Florida Ray, good work with Jay's 55 1.2, don't get high altitude sickness

Weasel is the Blimp over San Pedro?

Sharp Hawk Samy

Sorry about the lens Peter.

This is my last posting from the Guadalajara Thanksgiving trip, will take you through the variety of sights and lenses, I was with family and they always rush me, so no great photos.

Thanks Jay. Birds are very tough, and the smaller the more difficult to get good pics since they are very twitchy.

One more pic from a different light pole, same parking area as the hawk pics this morning. I call this the "Odd One Out".

Thanks Scott. I am planning a trip to Disney in the next week or so and I plan on taking the 20mm 3.5 for general, 35mm 1.4 for low light and the 24-85 VR That makes a pretty light kit

Thanks Rafael I really enjoyed using that lens

Thanks for the comments on the Yosemite shots. There has sure been a lot of great shooting going on here.

Ray, very nice bench and frosted leaf with the 55mm micro. I should use mine more. Wonderful farm landscapes with two champs, the 105/2.5 and 28/2.8.

Jose, really like your island landscapes and the black glacier set. The Thrush is terrific.

Peter, very pretty wild garlic flower. Nice work with the reflex. I especially liked Granny's hand.

Agentbird, nice street shots with your 45 PC. The pedestrian walking towards the sun is a great shot.

Sar, nothing cheap about your 50/1.8 owl portrait. Wonderful shots with your 200/4 and 300/2.8.

Ray, terrific Harley with your 16/3.5. Excellent Mexican fountain photo. Love the colors.

Rick, terrific macro shots!

Steve, really like the look and colors of your arcade and cake shots. Congrats on your 28/2.8.

Philippe, beautiful colors and framing of the antique shop and wax museum photos.

Georg, I really like the last apples. The "edginess" of the bokeh adds to the look of the photo, IMO. Great elements in the Teepott shot. Love the pigs and the festival at night.

Jay, beautiful Gum tree with the 50/1.2. "A Dying Art" is very fine.

Don, you haven't lost your knack. Great work!

Curtis, beautiful late autumn roses and holiday portraits.

Jim, congrats on your 135/2. Love the ice covered grass set.

Scott, beautiful snow shots.

Harry, I like the look of your spur shots.

Samy, beautiful tones and bokeh on your statues shot. Great Hawk!

JD, I really admire the man and pigeons photo. Great job with the hummingbird.

Leighton, very nice holiday shots. Was your youngest daughter reacting to you trying to take her picture? I've seen that look before.

Ron and Andy, congrats on your Df's.

Chuong, very nice long distance birds. Love the door knob shot.

Andreas, congrats on your 85/1.4. Nice blimp shots!

Reagan, great work on the clothes line photos. Really nice.

Chin, "hello Kitte" and "three brothers" have a terrific look.

Ronny, beautiful work with the tubed 135/2 and 180/2.8.

Rafael, really like the set from Guadalajara. Great thing you did for the USO!

Nancy, sorry to hear about your cat.

Peter, that's really bad news about the 16/3.5. It's unfortunate, but I've found eBay to be a real crapshoot for lenses and other photo gear lately. FWIW, my success rate here at FM has been significantly better.

Tony, welcome back! Nice work with your 50/1.2.

John, you can break my monitor with one of your finely layered panos anytime.
