Thank you John. I have been here for about a week to be more precise I've already post a few macro shots and bokehlicious shots from the famous 50 1.2 ais

Just look up a few post and you'll see some christmas pictures from me.

Well then you are a grizzled veteran of this thread

I'm a veteran from page 9 as I recall, but have not been around much the past few months so I've missed the entrance of many of the newer faces.

Welcome, welcome to our little corner of the internet.

Peter I love your work with the 300mm 4.5 EDIF and you are so right, it's a great lens at a very reasonable price. Nice catch on the woman "carrying" the baggage!

Sar the 80-200 4.5 is outstandingly sharp as you have demonstrated here. It's the lens that changed zoom lens quality! Your 105 has such great color and sharpness in the details!

Tony it's great to see you bearing wonderful photos. The last one is killer!

Chin that's a very interesting photo with great light.

Ron the 28mm 2.8 is a natural on the DF great shots!

Great work as always John

Rafael that 20mm ud is one outstanding lens. You certainly know how to bring out the best perspectives.

Ronny really like the photos of your dog. Tack sharp!

James terrific macro of the quarter. so sharp

Rick love the Christmas card shots. That first one is dreamy.

I had a great time with Jay at the Bok Tower Gardens yesterday. It is so wonderful to meet folks from the thread and go on a photo excursion. We laughed and compared notes on all of these fantastic lenses. We even swapped lenses to try them out. It was such a pleasant time and I hope we can do it again before he has to head back to California.
Here's a couple of shots using my newly aquired 20mm 3.5 AIS that I purchased from Chuong
By the way Chuong I love the lens and thank you

Thanks everyone. The entire estate was named Wuthering Heights and was sprawling with lonely cottages in different corners. The cottages were made from scratch in olden fashion, the guestbook had pictures of the owners' family casting the bricks into the mold and firing it in the kiln; so they've got a rough hewn look and imperfections to them.

We arrived when it was almost dark and we started driving around, grabbing the pencil-drawn map left on the coffee table. The largest, appropriately named Bronte Manor, had lights in the windows but with no other sounds emanating from it. A lone wallaby eyed us from the field suspiciously.

Tinkling of laughter drew us to the next cottage, bordered by tiny dried up creek. The tiny wooden bridge looked suspect, flaking red paint and all, but we shrugged it off - it had to be safe, that's the only way they could have crossed.

Just when our first two wheels creaked onto the wooden floors, a jalopy came racing out to us from behind, from nowhere, horns blaring, headlights flashing. The long flaxen haired man jumped out, arms akimbo flailing in an X, yelling with a distinct brogue, 'Stop!'

Some lovely photos in the last couple of pages

James: How'd you get the coin to stand up like that? The diffused lighting's perfect, no specular highlights at all, nice!

Peter: I don't know why but I instantly thought of a Pelican case and wondered what was in the suitcase heh. Thanks for sharing.

Ronny: I'll have you know that I've been trying to train my poodle to jump over this thin bamboo stick. She runs away when she sees it though. I have so much admiration for those action shots

John: The layers and soft evening light is amazing, very pleasing. Rusty skeleton is great too; well spotted, repeating patterns are a favorite of mine.

You're welcome Ray. Those shots are very nice.

I have a couple more lenses that I would like to sell. If someone wants a nice 180mm f2.8 ED AIS, a 85mm f1.4 AIS, PM me. I have to let this one go, Americo. It served me well with a publication.

Great shooting everyone!

Ray and Jay, I'm glad you guys were able to get together. It is quite enjoyable meeting folks from the thread.

Congrats on the pic in the publication Chuong.

I've been real busy trying to tie up loose ends before Winter sets in. I hope to be my usual blabbermouth soon.

Lovely to see your work on the thread once again Don. You make all of the manual focus lenses in your kit sing. It appears the D3s has kept its place in your heart. I trust the D800 is still getting occasional use.

I guess I should at least post one or two photos but you'll have to forgive me. These are "family" photos from Thanksgiving where I couldn't resist the two little boys running about. I was shooting with the 85 f/1.4 AI-s, which never disappoints.

Hope everyone is staying warm… which at least in the northern hemisphere is becoming a bit challenging. It was 30 degrees this morning in San Anselmo… burr. I moved to California to get AWAY from freezing temperatures…
