Dean - Beautiful shot from Italy.

Samy - Love the Falls and thanks for the market shots. Always cool to see other markets from around the US and world.

Scott - Nice, did you use a tripod? I bet there's some nice Bass in there.

Jim - Really like the minimalistic shot of the tree. Sometimes it's all about what's NOT in the image.

JD - What an interesting place to shoot, just what kind of facility is this?

Dustin - Looks like he's been around a few years.

Yeah I'm intrigued as well. Looks pretty cool. Lotsa angles and lines, maybe shadows for b&w
Enough tin foil for a lifetime of bbq though... heh

Thanks oosty, Leighton and Zichar.
It's a Pharmaceutical/Biotech. A lot of ducting moving a lot of heavily filter air. Company spent a lot of expense in insulation, pretty much everything except exhausted air is insulated. I took my camera for a quick walk before some meetings so didn't have much time. I use auto ISO but shoot everything else manual. It kept picking 19.2k + on ISO even through the pic's were too bright in camera. Want to get better focus in generator room also.
I like the lines and patterns of the ducting, maybe a stitched pano of the two half's in one picture would show it better. The size doesn't come out very well either. You can't really see that much of the duct starts out over 8ft wide x 3ft deep. The below shots I had to pick a area that was light on ducting so I could get more light from the skylights otherwise it was too dark in most areas. In person it's very impressive. I think having a person in the shot to give scale might give it something, lower ISO, better focus and lighting for the underneath shots may help. Maybe taking another job in the near future, had my camera so just went for it without much planning. If I get the time would like to check a few more angles on the above shots see if I can find a better one, that one was easy access and pretty impressive, others will require some climbing on beams then onto the top of the ducting to get anything better, don't think I'm up to that .

Thanks,
JD

Thank you Jeff, Georg, Ray, and Ronnie for the comments.

Another taken with the 18 3.5 ais. Inspired by Ray's Florida images. Mid day light so a polarizer was used.

Terrific shot Scott - love the framing

When I got the D800 I was worried my old glass wouldn't suite it. On the contrary is seems to make this old glass sing!

Thanks Americo, John, Leighton, Georg, Ray, Scott and Jim for your comments on the seascape.

Steve, I really like the look of "Detail from Saddleworth Cheese Stall."

Ray, very cool launch and Shuttle shots with your 16/3.5. I've always told myself that I'm not really a fisheye guy, but looking at your work, and that of others on the thread using that lens, I'm starting to change my mind. Next stop, eBay.

Dean, really attractive coast shot.

Samy, gorgeous falls!

Chuong, very cool "fishy" beach shot.

Scott, terrific pond image, la Ray.

Jim, beautiful foggy landscape.

Sam, lovely flowers.

Dustin, I like the pug shots.

JD, cool shots, literally.

Peter, very fine pano.

Geoff, welcome! Yep, the 105/2.5 is one of my favorite lenses on the D800.

I was out last night taking some long exposures when a surfer showed up with a crazy, LED impregnated board. Here's a 30 second exposure of one of his rides.

A day at the fish farm, was pleased that it was dark
Primarily a breeder, exporting across the world, the tanks and premises wasn't made for visitors
Greenish waters, slippery wet floors, some corners only illuminated by the purplish-hued overhanging tubes
Perfect for the Delta 3200

Our latest kitty rescue, Phoebe, just got back from being fixed. Charlie is a gray cat that adopted us (only cat to ever do that), and he is the sweetest cat ever. Well, he adopted Phoebe too, and became a kind of mother for her. This morning on the way out of the house Charlie (big cat on the right) and Phoebe were laying on the buffet by the window...head to head purring in stereo. I could hear it in the kitchen for goodness sakes! Well, I just had to shoot it, and was late for work again...good thing I know the boss.
