it is pretty beat up, but I have been pretty lucky with beat up lenses in the past.

I hope this works out what gave me pause was the screws are all buggered up and I am positive he sold this before for over $300 and I am suspicious it was returned. Has to be better than the one I bought in July for $230! He sent it to Canada and sent me some cord for an Apple! Money refunded and he received the proper feedback and to add insult I am pretty sure the guy kept the lens that received it by mistake.

No Georg - it's not a "battle" - I was very flattered that Phillippe was inspired to take a fountain shot after my first fountain shot - but I thought his was better - so to tease him I took another one.......the real "battle" will begin when my Lieca lenses arrive.

Peter congrats on the 16mm
Steve great market shots and the window shopper is real cool

Peter here's a couple more from Kennedy Space Center using the 16mm 3.5. The first photo you see a film of the launch and then the doors open to reveal the shuttle Atlantis.

ha ha - very good. No, you know me, I'd never go empty handed - I have to take a trolley cause I buy in bulk.

Actually I've come unstuck. My 50mm summilux finally arrived and it's faulty - the focus ring won't turn to infinity and the aperture ring won't go past f11. Of all the lenses I've ever bought - and it has been way too many - this is my first dud. And Steve - you'll appreciate this - it came from old Blighty.

thanks Leighton - it was night time here when I posted this and I thought there'd be no-one on, but there you were, you must have been up very early yesterday.

Chin - we didn't have a winter. The temperatures have been in the 20s - last week it got up to the early 30s.
that 24mm renders really beautifully - but it's very soft away from the centre. The nikon 24mm f2.8 lenses - just about all the versions - are highly regarded - but I guess I've been spoiled. there's a Leica R version - but Edwin Puts says it's no better than the nikon - I find that very hard to believe because, much as I like both versions of the 24 2.8 I have, if you pixel peep, they're not too good.

well, I was somewhat worried about the term "dent in the rear glass" - however, he states it doesn't affect the image and if that is not the case, I have a paypal not as described case. I don't really care about the condition as long as it works. I must confess I didn't really read the description really well and put in a bid I was quite certain would not win the auction...

What a gorgeous view, Dean!

I did a test on the point of view based on different focal lengths. I wish I had been where Dean shot his.
Sorry about the size - just thought others might be curious about the perspective differences. If not, let me know and I will take it down.

Quick trip to Oregon, and only very limited time to take pictures.

Here's Multnomah Falls with the 28 3.5 PC.

The falls with the 20 3.5 UD, on a very rainy evening.

The 20 3.5 UD drying off in the hotel room afterward. Taken with the 85 1.8 HC.
