I figured, you did a good job. I've said it before but I'll say it again, post work is every bit as enjoyable to me as the capture.

I gave 168 us dollars for ED 180mm f2.8 ai-s .. which is a bargain .. it has some scuffs..glass is in great condition and it works great

Ronny that is proper lens porn .....

As for paying $168 for a 180mm Ai-s .... well that is obscene .... rofl

Great pix though

So I shot it and it stayed fallen ......

180mm f2.8 @ f8 ISO200 1/200th

A touch of post too (I just couldn't resist)

I think its a conspiracy. First Curtis pulled us all in with all his talk about nikon manual lenses. Now that we all got roped in, we are being subliminally (or not so subliminally) dragged into Zeiss, Leica, Cron, Lux and who knows what else!

Ok Ronny, it's against the law to post images of Zeiss glass on this thread. We already have one syndrome, we don't need another!

I agree Samy!!!

I blame it all on Curtis .... ROFL

But there is a time and a place ....

I know I mentioned Leica .... but I wasn't so rude as to show pictures .... (oh perhaps I was - but only a sign not the product)

I better go and flagellate myself now ....

Maybe it's the Illuminati at work here.

James, love the sunflowers-still-life! It's very painterly indeed, but that's just fine (I wouldn't take photographs if I could draw ;-).

Ronny, very nice play with your glass as subjects! My fav is the "numbers-shot".

Steve, the fishing-rod is great in it's minimalism. Wish I had the "peace" to spend some hours, day, weeks fishing at a quiet pond...

Peter Z, very cool shallow-DoF-images with two of my favorite MF-Nikkors!

Leighton, I'm glad to read that your D600 is on it's way home ;-) Your decision to pick the 180ED for the market shots gets a from me

Peter from Madison, I like the image with the gnarly dead tree a lot.

Ben, very nice street-shot in your distinctive style.

Jose, congrats to your 35PC! The background-rendering seems to be a bit on the wild side, very cool, love your close-ups with it!

Dean, the portrait of your wife is really funny ;-) The coastal-scenic is wonderful, looks like a fantastic place to spend some time there.

Ray, very nice work with the 300/4.5 IF-ED! My personal fav is the first shot, beautiful blossom and great colors!

Philippe, love the framing of the Angers-image.

Steve, classic MF-Nikkors on a Nikon and Leica-glass maybe on a neat M go well together in my opinion. There's something magical about classic engineering.
The venerable pre-Ai-Nikkor's with the scalloped focusing-rings are a joy to handle, just like a "rigid-type" Summicron-M 50/2 for example.
Everything but plastic is the way to go ;-)

Thanks, Georg and to all else for the nice comments.

After 8 days in Rome we spent another 8 days based in Sorrento ... we visited the AC twice during that time ... beautiful place with very friendly people ... like that street vendor.

I have about 7,000 images to go through. it's nice to finally have some images to share

Shared this in the "other" thread, figured I would share here too... I recently changed jobs and now work on a different college campus. The new campus is totally revamping their website and wants new pictures of the campus for the website. I spoke with the person in charge, showed her my work, and she loved it! So, I am now the photographer for the campus website. I have a shot list and three weeks to get everything together. This will give me a lot of visibility, I am very nervous.

Thanks Georg. It's still on the brown truck and we're in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Kevin, congrats on the assignment. My only suggestion is shoot a lot and shoot RAW.

Congrats, Kevin! I would take this opportunity as an excuse to get a real wide-angle-lens. I love detail-shots of architecture, but can't imagine (no pun intended) to get a complete campus-picture-set without some superwide-shots.

Dean, I'll take your beautiful-vacation-images as a reminder to browse through my vacation-files again ;-)
Here's an image I have mixed feeling about: I like the framing and the subject, I just wish the highlights in the foreground were less "piled".
A deeper point of view (hard to do from our moving boat in this case) and the lens wide open instead of f/4 would have made the highlights go more "pop".
