Bob, those are nice shots but they are being seriously compromised by heavy JPG artifacts.

What did you use to export them?

I noticed that too. Extreme artifacting there.

One more attempt! This is with the Nikkor 85mm 1.4 AIS, Nikon D800, handheld. I used Silver EFX Pro

Congratulations, Alan, and now it's time to let Nikki rest http://www.daytondailynews.com/ap/ap/top-news/all-boys-club-michigan-couple-welcomes-12th-son/nZJgL/ That is a beautiful photo, print it large, and hang it on the wall. http://www.adoramapix.com

Curtis, sorry to hear of Sue's travel problems. I've had plenty of those fun times waiting at the airport for my husband to arrive, too. He had some real horror stories over the years, including some of those "if he'd been on that flight..."

amlsml, those Florida shots are beautiful.

Zippy, I completely understand that you'd rather be called Zippy. Keep posting

Rafael, definitely a dapper dresser! I'm not in many photos either, I tend to hide or "put up the hand" when a camera is aimed my way.

the solitaire, lovely test shots with the D300. I have this as well, and I've learned to focus well with it too, even with my cruddy vision

Ronny, you're really rockin' those bee shots!

Kevin, congrats on the job!! I definitely know what's it's like to be out of work for years, over three for me so far, one interview the whole time.

DesertDiesel, nice shots of the horse and the squirrel.

Ten days off from school, and it's already shaping up to be a busy time, surgery this afternoon on my ears, dental appointment on Monday, and an interview for a student position at school on Tuesday. Not in my field of study, but at least in my former field of employment, somewhat. I haven't taken the class that is a requirement of the position, though. A couple of emails and I at least have an interview.

I agree with Ron Kevin, this is wonderful news. These have been very challenging times for many folks hit by the recent contraction. A good friend lost all his savings and was only able to save his home by taking in two housemates and going back to work after he'd retired. I'm sure a bit of a commute will feel like a breeze knowing you have a stable job to go to each day. I'm delighted for you and for your family. Congratulations!

+1!!!

Alan - I must say that is one of the best candid shots I've seen in quite a while. She's laughing and not looking a the camera while he's got the greatest smile and is looking at the camera.

Obviously you know when to trip the shutter . . .

Kevin, I've been playing around with that 35/2.8. It meters fine in spot and area, but in matrix it completely underexposes. No good for me, I pretty much shoot matrix only.

Shining a light through it, it looks like it needs a good cleaning. But the glass looks nice. If you wanna try your hand at it, I looked up rates to get it to your general neck of the woods, and I would be happy to do so, free of charge to you. I'd just be happy to pass along a perfectly good optic to someone who would use and appreciate it. If you can get matrix metering working, all the better.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Just wanted to share some good news with my friends... When the economy went south a bunch of years ago, I lost my job. I was out of work for a very long time (years) but was able to land a few temporary contractor type jobs to get by. I got a call today that I was offered a full time position working at a different college than I am at currently. I have to deal with traffic now, but it is a SUBSTANTIAL bump in pay and responsibility. I am so excited and grateful that I just had to

Kevin and Tom - thanks !
The Fujica is wonderful indeed, not machined as nicely as an old Leica, but still an amazing tool. I just have to work out a proper film/developer/exposure/scanning-combination to get more out of the big negatives.
The neat Olympus Pen and the Weston belong to a friend/fellow shooter.

Here's another one from the same roll - I was almost surprised to see that the old 16/3.5 works with an analogue camera too The framing is not really good, I was to busy getting a sunburst.

Sunburst is outstanding and well placed Georg.

Friday, cruising grand esccondido. The 15mm 3.5 is at Nikon Service for the third time, should come back like new.

Took the 15mm 5.6, which is an outstanding lens, very sharp and useful for this type of photography as the curvature of field allows for near and far surfaces on the cars to be in critical focus.

This lens:

Agreed. Nice vette. Its just a bit high on the springs. Looks like an offroad vette in that first picture, but that could be due to the angle of view as well. The 2nd picture on the other hand is very nice

@Kevin, that dump the economy took hit a lot of us I guess. Im glad to hear things are going to be better for you from now on.
