I've been meaning to grab a photo of this statue of St. Francis that sits above my kitchen sink. The morning light is quite delicious. This was taken with the 135 f/2.8 Q.C. AI'd, wide open, of course. We can all it our morning benediction...

For a bit of contrast with Curtis' shot, a car I saw on my walk home yesterday, taken with the 105mm f/1.8 AI-s, wide open.

Great shot of an iconic car Philip!

Inspired by CGrindahl's image of St. Francis;

Wooden statue (about 20cm height) of Indonesian dancer
50mm f1.2 + Canon 250D close-up lens (iso 3.200 so some noise is visible)

Canon QL17 GIII
50mm f1.2 + Canon 250D close-up lens (iso 3.200, Kodak Ektachrome Pro simulation)

I have one of these rangefinders! It was my favorite street camera for years. I am currently restoring mine with new seals and I need to clean the inside lens surface. I also am going to calibrate the light meter to work with a modern 1.5v battery.

Love your work on Flickr.

it's not "a car," it's an icon, the E-Type! Jeremy Clarkson did a whole Top Gear Episode to celebrate the greatest achievement of Britain, ever, the E-Type's on its 50th birthday

Great images everyone. And in case anyone is wondering, those Canon close up lenses are just filters that screw on to the lenses, wouldn't want anyone thinking otherwise

Thanks Kevin, lots of non-Nikon stuff (mainly Fuji X100 and X20) on my Flickr recently. My QL is in excellent condition but hardly used due to lack of time to develop and scan film/slide. Good luck with the restoration process!

Haha, right. I changed 50mm f1.2 with Canon 250D close-up lens to 50mm f1.2 + Canon 250D close-up lens already!

Thanks Luc, Peter, and Philippe!

Philippe - great dreamy low contrast background. Is that in Nancy?

I was guessing as much. I've never been to Paris, but it just had that feel.

The E-type looks great in red. I had a 1:43 model of a red E-type roadster as a kid! The white chalk on the tyre makes me cringe. Easy to correct in post.

Thanks Rafael, appreciated. Sorry for the late reply. I like this one too. The girl was only about 1 sec in this position so I had to react very fast.

Ferraris look even better in red - here "cross processed" scan of an old slide taken with my F3HP and what appears from the perspective the 28mm f/3.5 AI'd (last seen in a fish tank). I had a crop off a lowly 911 Turbo on the left to focus on what I think is the most beautiful car Ferrari ever made, the Dino

Great shot! Dino's are very nice indeed, I like your taste.

Alfa's also look ok in red ...

Sorry for the repeat images. But it sometimes pays to get others opinions such as I received this morning. After getting the recommendations, I re-edited the image. I can't believe how far off I was on the original seen here.

I'm still not sure if it's "right", but I like this version better.

I like all your contributions, Luc.

Philippe - the Paris shot is incredible for the color...from the guy who usually posts grayscale. Love it!

I always wondered what the difference between the Nikkor f2.0 AI and the Nikkor f1.4 AIS would look like wide open at MFD...here is a coat tree peg in my studio.
Nikkor 35mm f2.0 AI

Nikkor 35mm f1.4 AIS

And turn around...
First the Nikkor 35mm f1.4 shot by the Nikkor 35mm f2

then the Nikkor 35mm f2 shot by the Nikkor 35mm f1.4

It took me from November til now to find the f1.4 in the condition I like, for the price I wanted to pay. Other than the obvious feel differences - there are two image quality differences. The f2 is higher contrast, and has more saturation than the f1.4

Thanks Jim for the comparison. The f2 holds up pretty well. We have seen some testing of other FL's in the past couple of weeks that frankly, have surprised me. The other one that comes to mind is Curtis' 135mm test when the 50-135mm held it's own as far as bokeh is concerned.
