^ Thanks, James. I paid a bit more than $75 for mine but it was still a bargain. I also own the Zeiss 35 f2 and I honestly use the Nikon more -- primarily because of its small size and compatibility with the Nikon 4T closeup diopter.

Sorry David, wrong city. This is the Staunton farmers market. Just ask Scott how to pronounce it.

Trust me David, I got a real English lesson on how to pronounce the local names. I guess they could tell I was not a local!

Nice shots Scott, I'm sure glad you got one of me working. Can you see the sweat rolling off of me?!

Leighton, we won't tell anyone else that this photo was staged.

You guys are cracking me up. Fantastic seeing those photos Scott but it really makes me envious. I wish I'd been there to join in the conversation and learn the local dialect. I remember the first time I visited the south from my then home in Minnesota. My then wife and i stopped at a restaurant in northern Louisiana on our way to New Orleans. Listening to locals across the room talking with one another we couldn't understand anything they were saying. When the waitress arrived and we spoke, she must have switched the channel because we were were able, though barely, to understand what she said. Driving north we were very aware of the southern drawl which continued to southern Illinois.

Of course, I've talked with Leighton on Skype and I can understand him without a problem, but then he's transplanted from up north...

Great to see all of you.

Good eye folks! I like the "Gladly accepted for your purchase" wording juxtaposed between their faces And yes, that one of Leighton putting the bags of vegetables in the bins really does look staged, I get the feeling he meanders around the market turning the focus ring on his lenses most of the time

Leighton, very scenic image, well seen and taken!

Here's a red wing blackbird, stayed stable for enough of a second to fire off this shot.

400 5.6 ED AIS + TC16A (640mm), with the 400 set at f8.

Need to take my lesser used lenses out for a spin on film before class is done.

Howard, I can't quite describe it, but this is another example of how the 8 elements in 6 groups of the 35mm ai (and ais) renders in a magical way. There is almost a soft glow to the image. I have one too...best $75 I ever spent. The 35mm f1.4, or f2.0 AF, & AF-D don't have it.

Thanks Rafael, Philippe, Leighton, Georg and Samy for the comments on the barn shot.

Rafael, the barn is on private land near the eastern trail of the San Elijo reserve. Great Packard shots!

Jay, very nice Finch.

Curtis, love the bench shot.

Georg, wonderful shots the past couple of days. I agree with Leighton, the photo of the two men and the statue is special.

Leighton, terrific light on your downtown tree.

Philippe, the columns shot is very cool!

Howard, great ones from the car show.

Samy, I really like the Cloisters shot. Let us know when you're in escrow.

Scott, great shots from the market!

Photoshoot was a dud today. One couple showed up and the 80-200 was way to long for the space I had to shoot in, used the 50. On Dx, thats a 75mm, so it did OK. Very disappointing.

I have the two best brother in laws in the world. My wifes brother Steve heard we had a tree fall so while I am out playing with the camera shooting a garden contest for the club he is home with my wife cutting up the fallen tree. Taken with the Leighton lens(50-135) I can't make it sing like Leighton but it works pretty good.
