Philippe, what a very nice photograph of your daughters! The choice of foreground OOF and the framing is really first rate.

Farmhose study part 2. I revisited the farmhouse museum at sunrise to try some other compositions. All taken with the 28 2.8 ais. Thanks for looking.

Great work everyone! I decided to take my 50mm f1.2 to the market this week because I was debating whether or not to sell it for lack of use. I've decided to keep it as it has just too much character to get rid of it.

Scott, I really like the composition, the sunlit tree and the mix of sun and shadow on the brick face of the farm house in the first two photos. Very nice!

Lotsa fantastic work on the last few pages, will come back later to comment.

Some shots from today - a pretty large cruise ship was in my hometown and I had the opportunity to snap some pictures for a local paper.
Here are some images that won't make it into the gazette for various reasons ;-)

The 16/3.5Ai got some use too, this one was hand-held (D700, ISO3200, 1/8sec, f/11)

Disclaimer: the shots, captions and comments above are not too seriously meant.

Funny and at the same time very creative captures Georg.
Liked the most this one with the 16/3.5.

So many impressive bokeh work last days. My humble contribution is with the "poor man" 105/2.8 Micro-Nikkor:

Dry flower with "110mm F/5.6 micro Nikkor" by labecoaves, on Flickr

Dry inflorescence with "110mm F/5.6 micro Nikkor"

An old test with the 55mm f/2.8 micro + TC201. The inflorescence has a diameter less than 1.5cm.
D3 at ISO 1250 hand held, f/9 and 1/250s.
Even at f/8 the DOF is very thin.

This one's a real mutt of an image. A b&w conversion, using a T-Max 100 template, of a Velvia 50 film shot.

Thank you Jeff. I made this second trip back with the third image in mind, but I do prefer the first two. Just shows you never know what will present itself.

Ah, Phillippe, the "Blanc de Noir" is a Merlot. However, you have a chance to convince me since I will be in Chamonix Mt. Blanc from 6 to 12 September and I'll be only too happy to sample whichever vintages you choose to bring.......................do not forget I have French blood in my veins and the South Africanisation dates from the time of the revocation of the Edict of Nantes!

You have lovely daughters.

Jose, wonderful image and background. I recently acquired the 105 f4 micro and it has become my favorite for closeup work. Not bad at tele either.

Very interesting image Jeff. I recognized the wire right off, but I wasn't sure what the sand was until I saw the title.

I almost gave up on this image with its crazy artificial light - and then decided to use the light to my advantage. I think I never before moved the saturation slider in ACR to +100

Hey Peter, too bad, I will be in Champex, Switzerland, from 27 july to 10 august and Champex is very close to Chamonix.
IMO the révocation de l'Edit de Nantes is the biggest mystake of the damned Louis XIV and certainly one of the biggest in all the history of France.

BTW , what we call here "Blanc de Noir" is a Pinot noir vinified like a white and used for some Champagne.
