Good for you Kevin, you are doing some cool projects.

And thanks for the Copperhill link, I am reading through it. That dust bunny's shows up unfailingly at f/11. Wonder what I will see at f/22?

Thanks John, Scott and Peter.

Ray and Curtis, classy flower shots, as usual;

John, as usual excellent landscapes with t he 400/5.6;

Peter, loved the "lens porn" and the sample shots;

Chuong, nice IR images; have you played with WB and/or curves settings or is this just straight out of the camera?

Kevin, good luck with the ai conversions. The critical step is to know where exacly file off at the left of aperture ring - the table at Pindelski site is the key for that;

Mark, great debut with the 135mm (f/3.5?). Is you new lens the scalloped version? Q or Q.C?

Jose, I played with color balance and exposure.

Just found out I get to shoot some film this weekend! Haven't shot film since 1989! Shame it will most likely be on my old Pentax P3, seems my Nikon FG is totally dead.

Very cool Kevin, that reminds me I still have 12 exposures left on my Nikon FA

Probably looks like a brick! I will see if I can find one of the worst oil splotches I had on my sensor. It was a mixture of grease and oil from the back of the shutter and the extracting arm. I used 11 passes and 9 strips to clean it off. But I did get it off!

Curtis and Ray, great flowers.

John, great scenics with that 400 5.6

Mark, cool new lens and those caps should be easy to find.

Peter (WI), terrific images of that supersonic jet! And what a perspective of the B29 nose cone.

Peter (SA), cool 5cm f2 lens. I think Rafael also has one of those. And looks like it did a great job on the boat images.

Peter (WI), those stormy sky images were something. I liked best the one with the windmills in the distance under the giant clouds. Gives a perspective on whatever scale human beings build on, its still miniscule against nature.

Mihai, great portraiture with the 105 2.5P, that lens has me intrigued.

Ray (FL), the dioramas at the Ringling museum were very interesting and well done with the 35 on those!

James, super shot of the eye of the needle.

Georg, that B&W image of the structure in the middle of the woods is well done! And what a vestige of a tough past - the watchtower.

Jorge, both are nice but I like the rich tones in the b&w.

And just having some fun with panning:

Peter, I like the low spring tide image. Good time to do a bit of hull work on that boat.

Thanks Scott. It needs more than hull work - it's been there for about 2 years and should be towed out to sea and sunk IMO

Ray O - it's very easy. Only the aperture ring needs work and most seem to unscrew quite easily. I was too enthusiatic with my first two and worked on the back of the lens also which with modern cameras is not necessary.

Ray Fl - the Banyan is amazing. We have a similar type of "strangler fig" in SA that also sends down rootlets which eventually become new trunks. One in Pretoria is reputed to be over 1000 years old.

Curtis - the rose master!

Chuong - interesting - what are they like in B&W?

Mark - I like the eclipse but wouldn't spend a fortune on a lens in anticipation of the next one. You know what will happen - cloud

Samy - go for it. Look at Jose's reference on Thomas Pindelski http://pindelski.org/Photography/2013/02/06/nikkor-ai-conversions-diy/ I love the tulips and also an excellent photo of the rabbit. That will get John's lens lust going for sure!

Thanks for the comments. The boat shots were with the H lens though. This is like being a golfer with 2 putters - you always want the one you left at home!

Scott - the "poor man's pano" is really good - that is a great lens.

Mike - good to see Central Park looking like summer is on the way.

Haha. Yes, it probably will. But I have a little time to hunt for a bargain to appear. The next eclipse visible in Europe is not until Sept the 28th. There is before then a total solar eclipse on March the 20th but both these are only in the year 2015.

My hope for something interesting in the sky happening is now on comet ISON. (although failing that I just read there is a 1/1000 chance of another comet (2013 A1) hitting Mars next year, that could be fun* as well)

* Fun to watch from Earth, probably not fun if you live on Mars.
