Photoshoot was a dud today. One couple showed up and the 80-200 was way to long for the space I had to shoot in, used the 50. On Dx, thats a 75mm, so it did OK. Very disappointing.

This might be the last few shots from my D700. I am moving on to D600. I do need the video for the kids.

I have the two best brother in laws in the world. My wifes brother Steve heard we had a tree fall so while I am out playing with the camera shooting a garden contest for the club he is home with my wife cutting up the fallen tree. Taken with the Leighton lens(50-135) I can't make it sing like Leighton but it works pretty good.

Continuing to test my MF lenses on the D700. Here we find the 200 f4 AI using its minimum aperture of f32 to capture a mug shot of this criminal (4T attached):

Do you mind? I'm workin' here!

You guys are cracking me up. Fantastic seeing those photos Scott but it really makes me envious. I wish I'd been there to join in the conversation and learn the local dialect. I remember the first time I visited the south from my then home in Minnesota. My then wife and i stopped at a restaurant in northern Louisiana on our way to New Orleans. Listening to locals across the room talking with one another we couldn't understand anything they were saying. Scott - love that set with Leighton.

Good to see the stall as a whole - and of course, Leighton "working"....oh yeah, I can see the sweat......it's positively pouring off him with all that exertion - moving a brussel sprout around a basket will take it out of you.

I like this shot a lot! What does the 5.8cm look like? I really like how this renders and I wish my 50 had a tad more reach...

Leighton and I had a great visit yesterday. Besides keeping him from getting any "work" done, we did have the ladies rolling their eyes with all the gear talk.

Here a few quick snaps of the market. All taken with the 28 2.8 AIS.

Chin, we did return home with some of their fine produce. Cannot wait to convert it into dinner tonight.

Great shots, Scott ... this is like a behind the scenes look at Leighton !!

Trust me David, I got a real English lesson on how to pronounce the local names. I guess they could tell I was not a local!

Yes, I think it is Staunton, as in "haunting" as opposed to Staunton, as in "panting" but I could be wrong. Anyway, it is on the way from Richmond to The Homestead, and makes a good lunch alternative. Nice resteraunts and shops around an old train station, as I recall...

Kevin
There are two 5.8 cm in this photo. One in the camera and the other on the middle. Both with chrome Nikon filters. Looks a lot like the 50 1.4. Caution!. Cannot be ai coverted other than cutting the aperture ring and the diaphragms tend to be weak. $140 to $600 for good samples on the bay. Some sellers price it at 50 1.4 levels. Most typically they go for $250.

Help for the helpless...

Virginia Placenames Pronunciation

They suggest it should be pronounced as "Stanton" which rhymes with "plan fun." And here it is pronounced...

Well, I lied as usual, was not planning to do anything but ended up on a hike to the local Buddhist Ranch, up on the north hills, the place was so peaceful I was afraid to move, the people I spoke to so calmly friendly I was ashamed of my venti mocha latte nervous aura. I promise you one week of rest.

The last adventure with the 5.8cm. on the D3, no need for a D800 for this. Most at 1.4
