Ray, very nice set with the 300/4.5+TC14-combo! For compository reasons (proper choice of words??) I like #2 the most - well done

Ronny, I like the B&W-portrait of Thea a lot - wonderfully done! I like kinda thoughtful portraits, and this one is a fine example.

Philippe, another one of your famous mirror-shots - so well done! Let's hope that Ben "hurdles" his crisis soon for some fresh Aussie-mirror-shots ;-)

A little sun bathing was in order for Mr Froggy. Not to shabby for a $40 lens. 28 3.5 AI

Lots of fun images the past few pages. Seeing your pho has made me hungry, Chuong, and I'll have to ask you, Ronny, in ~15 years, how you convince your daughter to keep posing for so many nice portraits!

It's also always fun to hear how people build up their kits (or contract them, as Rafael's case may be!). I'm now in a period of relative lens stability, having managed to not bite the bullet an buy the pristine looking late SN 28 f/2 AI-s that was on the B&S board, as the 28 f/2.8 I picked up as my second manual focus NIKKOR really does do a fine job except for the far corners (and even so, a shot I took with the 28mm f/2.8 was printed up in business magazine earlier this year!).

On to a picture! Here's a good example of just how flare prone the 50mm f/1.2 AI-s is, the present photo stopped down to f/4. The building in question is about to undergo major renovation to become the new home for the faculty of architecture at my university, and they're leaving the front of the building intact, while many of the add-ons in the back (not seen here) won't survive. The building has been largely unused during my time at the university, so I'm happy to hear it will finally take a more prominent role.

1 Spadina Crescent by philipjohnson, on Flickr

For context, here's a picture of the front (which I've shared before, a 3 shot stitch), taken with the 105mm f/1.8 AI-s, also, I believe, at f/4.

Some quick snaps from today, I was happy to shorten a boring assignment and grabbed a few pictures while walking back to the parking car ;-)

a victim of birds and the Ais-Nikkor 180/2.8ED (wide open)

Michaeliskloster-Pano von georgsfoto auf Flickr
6 vertical shots with the 180/2.8ED at f/4 stitched in PS6, some strange distortion can be seen at the high building
Downsizing images with many fine details is still troublesome, can't get rid of jagged diagonal lines.
The building at the right side is a former abbey, at about 1475 the brethren started a "book printing shop".

Mercedes *enz, 180/2.8ED at f/4

A fearless pigeon, Ais 180/2.8ED wide open: removing the greenish longitudinal CA's will affect the green maculation as well, that's why I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to LoCA's.

The first one is definitely my favourite, Georg. What is the statue for, besides the birds?

Thanks, Philip! It's part of a fountain-sculpture, that was built to divide my fellow citizens into lovers and haters of modern sculpting
I've shot this fountain and it's strange characters already 2 or 3 dozen times, with almost every camera I own.

I like your takes on the university-buildings a lot, your style is truly distinctive.

Mr Froggy meet Mr Anole.

This with a bargain bin Series E 100/2.8 and an old TC200. I'm amazed at the sharpness of this combination.

Larry

I am currently repairing a Series E 100/2.8. I am a big proponent of the Series E lenses, half of my kit consists of them. Nice shot!

Larry, love the colorful lizard!

Ray, thank you, I'm glad you like the *enz ;-)

Kevin, hats off to your skills: repairing lenses at home is way out of my abilities.

The whole scalloped focusing ring Nikkor talk lately here made me investigate the current offers at the famous auction site.
Let's see, with a bit of luck I can add another MF-Nikkor to my stable (or arsenal ;-).

Here's another shot of the controversial discussed fountain sculpture, taken today too:

Well, that remains to be seen... I have it nearly done, just have to get one stuck and messed up screw out and replaced. Luckily, I have a donor lens that I can borrow bits from. These old screws are SO hard to remove when you find one stuck fast. Grr...

Nice shot, your post work is always a pleasure. Even with a preset, skill is required to know when to use it.

Thanks Choung, Peter (S.A.) and Georg.

Chuong, you are right, towards the borders they became lentil shaped;

Mihai, hope a nice recovery from the surgery, and looking forward your "tons" of pictures;

Ronny, fantastic dragonfly captures, as usual;

Ray, loved the bird set;

Ron and Larry, loved Mr. Froggy & Mr. Anole

Thanks Georg, I think pretty much everyone who frequents the thread has a distinctive style, either in subject matter or processing!

A couple from today with the 50mm f/1.2 AI-s, the first stopped down to f/4, and the second wide open.

I just sold my 100/2.8 Series E - too many 100-ish primes about, so this one had to go.

105/2.5 AIS
90/3.5 CV AI-P
135/3.5 and 135/2 AIS

I was kind of saving the 100/2.8E for my m43 GH-2, but I needed to clear things up a bit.

I did buy an F-to-m43 mount converter so I could use my Nikkors on my GH-2 - especially for video as I absolutely hate using my D800 for video unless it's on a tripod . . .
