Ron, great colors and background on that magnolia image.

I think this is the first time I saw a 45 GN example?

Samy

Thanks Sammy. I got that in a trade and wanted to try it out before posting it for sale which I just did on the B&S. Sharp little lens but with two 55's and a 50 I sure don't need anything around that length. It is the nicest one I have seen and appears to have been used very little.

Philippe, the photograph above works great in B&W. Love the judging expression of the man and the "clash of textures".

Mihai, the picture of your nephew is a great example of excellent portraiture. Great to see that the old Sonnar-rype 105 does so well. That's a lens I would like to try. Nikon's 105's rarely fail to impress me.

John, another beautiful set! I especially like "What's In There" - a picture where family-holiday-images and art seem to fuse (sorry for my English).

Laura, I'm glad to finally see a picture taken with your new old 300/2.8 ;-) Beautiful work, I love the look of superfast telephotos at close range (the same goes for your fabulous shots over at your 200/2-thread).

A completely tasteless shot from yesterday:

D3s in DX-mode, 16/3.5 at f/22 and minimum focusing distance
I had a weather-feature-type image in mind, but couldn't find a cocktail-glass with the usual deco at the beach-bar.
The sun was way to high for the planned picture.

WOW! Georg, what a great shot. Too bad the label wasn't showing, the company might have purchased it.

Doesn't make it bad, I still like it.

Did something fun today. One of the instructors that I work with allowed me into her class to show off my macro setup. Many of the students thought it was very cool and every student was impressed that I don't have a single AF lens in my kit. Only one Nikon user in the class (the professors push Canon so they can assist the beginning students). I took a couple shots in the class of various silly things, they were very fascinated with my largest magnification of 2.6:1. Most of them had heard of focusing rails, but none of them knew anything about tubes and reverse mounting lenses. When I showed them reverse mounted ON a tube...minds were blown.

Flowers with the 85 1.4 AIS today.

First is a tulip with petals falling from a blossom tree above it. Thats the white in the background, and a couple on the tulip itself.

And another one with the 85..

Both shots at f/4.

George and Philippe, terrific images on this page. Such an apt use of the 16 fisheye! And Philippe, you just get those moments in time every time.

And last one for today is with the 5.8cm 1.4S + PK-13 combo. Much better lighting today.

Very nice! I love my 135-Q. I think there are 3 of us that use it now. F/4 definitely is the sweet spot as far as sharpness goes. I am about to go out and do some macro work with that very lens (and a few others).

Since I have more money than tools and dexterity, I decided to have the local camera technician convert the lenses I'd bought with the intention of switching aperture rings. I gave them to him around noon and picked them up about five p.m. I then put the two pre-AI lens up for consignment. I won't make much on them but this is one way to give a bit of business to the camera shop and also relieve me of the responsibility for selling two lenses most prized by those using adaptors and mounting them of alternative cameras.

Here is my kit of pre-AI lenses, all of which have now been converted with Nikon kits. There are only two changes that could possibly happen with this lineup. If I found a mint copy of an 85 f/1.8 H.C. I'd consider replacing the H lens I own. I also don't have the 20 f/3.5 UD but frankly, 20mm is not a focal lens I'm inclined to use, so I doubt I'll add a second lens at that focal range. All but the 85 H are in EX+ condition. My shopping days are over...

Left to right: 105 f/2.5 P AI'd, 105 f/2.5 P.C. AI'd, 85 f/1.8 H AI'd, 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI'd, 50 f/1.4 S.C. AI'd, 50 f/2 H.C AI'd, 35 f/2 O AI'd, 24 f/2.8 S.C. AI'd and 28 f/3.5 H AI'd
