Peter B, with that lens and a few tubes you'll have a great deal of success, as you do above. Wonderful images. I really need to get that lens out of its bag and start shooting with it. In the meantime, the 200 f/4 Q.C. AI'd continues to impress. Another flower shot wide open.

You are doing very nice work with that 200 Curtis. Nice colors and detail.

We had 4 inches of rain with more on the way. This little creek that runs through the bottom of our property can't really be seen most days as it runs by the Weeping Willow tree. The fence post to the right are 4 feet.

Sorry to see the flooding. Hope there is not any damage.

Nice series Mark. The first is my favorite.

Leighton - 4" is a lot of rain. Hope your livestock are OK.

Phillippe - I would have no problem joining you in Cassis either. Great pics and colour. I read the death notices in a local paper while at a laundromat (it was about the only thing in the paper that I could understand apart from the pictures) and was amazed how old people were when the died. The average age seemed to be in the 90's!

Mark - the Garda shots are great but look so cold!

Thanks Peter.
France has one of the very best life expectancy in the world especially in the South East.
Thanks to the mediterranean diet : fish, fruits, vegetables, Virgin olive oïl and.... Cassis white wine....

Thanks for the concerns about the rain. Everything is fine as most of the farm is on high ground.

really like the waterfall, too. Reminds me I need to find a subject for that 100x ND filter I recently got from Adorama using my rebate from the D600 purchase. It's been with me on my recent trip, but all the water on the mountain was frozen, and the desert doesn't have much moving stuff in it.

more from the trip, but I am running out of new stuff to post soon. Evening at Upper Boy Scout Lake on Mt. Whitney

20mm 1/320 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100

and more more rust and decay from the burnt down casino
20mm 1/30 sec, f/11, ISO 100

20mm 1/50 sec, f/11, ISO 100, Compensation: -2/3

29mm 1/40 sec, f/11, ISO 100, Compensation: -1/3

Is this a 10 stop filter?

I like the first one in this set BTW. The sun coming over the ridge makes it.

10 stops, I think. It's a Cokin P sized filter, which I can place over the threaded polarizer and ND8 I have as well - the idea is to do very long exposures in bright light.

congrats Laura - I'm sure your upcoming B&w darkroom classes will boost that GPA some more.

I'm happy, too - 20 minutes ago on ebay, this AI converted lump of glass went to me for a price I was willing to pay. Looks like it was converted with Nikon parts.

made sometime between Nov 68 and Jul 71. 55mm Low DOF, here I come
